Reason MathType includes an add-in for Microsoft Word compile error in which adds the MathType menu and toolbar/ribbon to Microsoft Word. This add-in contains macros written in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), the macro language used by Microsoft Word. The add-in is placed in Microsoft Word's designated Startup folder. AutoExec is the macro that Microsoft Word automatically executes when launching. MTLib is a library of MathType macros used by the toolbar/tab and MathType menu in Microsoft Word. If there is a problem with your computer's VBA environment, when you launch Microsoft Word, you may receive error messages. Solution To correct this problem, you need to make sure that Microsoft Office components upon which the MathType Commands for Word rely are functioning correctly. You should follow the instructions that we provide for resolving issues using the MathType Commands for Microsoft Word. I have added this to a custom tab on the Word ribbon. Whenever i try to run the macro by pressing the button on the custom tab i get the following error. Compile error in hidden module: CallBackForRibbon CallBackForRibbon is the name of the module i have the callback for the custom ribbon in. Module contains the code below: 'Callback for FORMAT onAction Sub Format(control As IRibbonControl) Prog_Format End Sub Prog_Format is the name of the sub which contains the formatting macro. I have tested the button on the ribbon with a simple message box and this works correctly so no issues with the call back but when i try to run the sub with the formatting macro i get the error. The macro also runs fine in the VBA editor. Can anyone point me to where i am going wrong? vba callback ms-word word-vba share|improve this question edited Jan 22 at 18:54 Deduplicator 27.8k63265 asked Jan 22 at 17:30 ian 91 Is that all of the code in that module? –Macro Man Jan 22 at 17:37 Have you tried putting a break-point in Prog_Format then stepping through it when it's called from the Ribbon? Errors in code called by the procedure linked to the UI are often attributed to that procedure, rather than the one in which they actually occur... –Cindy Meister Jan 22 at 17:52 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote You can check where the compile error is by actually compiling your module before saving: Open the module in the VBA editor From the menu, choose Debug -> Compile Project The IDE should now highlight the first line with a compile error. share|improve this answer answered Jan 24 at 8:52 Dirk Vollmar 106k34181252 add a comment| up vo
