Veröffentlicht am 31.07.2013Using Windows XP service pack 2 and getting this bug when trying to generate XML using ITR workbook I must admit that this was a strange bug for i personally didn't face it since i have a service pack 3 for windows XP but few people using service pack 3 also complain of this bug .One of my subscriber's while trying to fill the return (excel workbook ITR 1 )was getting this message .After analysing the message he got via his send email screenshot and going through his comments , i understood that it was not easy for me to replicate the problem because it seemed to be a operating system issue and in my parent laptop ,it didn't seem a good idea to virtualise (create a seperate system for this version of windows XP),so i virtualised my other laptop and yes the bug did came in service pack 2 , .Basically the VB coding done vide modules used to generate the Extended mark up document don't compile properly with versions of windows XP OS lesser than service pack 3 version...so people using windows XP service pack 2 might face this problem ,because when i installed windows XP service pack 2 in on

Module 1 What happens if you hit Debug? If you don't get that option, then see if you can unprotect the VBA project and try opening it again. Module 1 The debug option is not there. It does not allow me to do anything. The message says that this error commonly occurs when the code is incompatible with the version platform. We check that Macros is enabled but still doesn't help. Since we protect this excel spread sheet with a password, we don't want to be giving this password out to our users to check the References, and wondered if anyone had any idea how I can add VBA code to check whether the References required for the excel spread sheet is there and if not then bring up a message box to advise the user. The References we use are as follows: Visual Basic For Applications Microsoft Excel 11.0 Object Library Microsoft Forms 2.0 Object Library Microsoft Windows Common Controls 5.0 (SP2) Alternatively, if anyone has any other suggestions on how to go about this problem, that would be great. excel vba reference compilation share|improve this question edited Aug 8 '13 at 1:36 asked Aug 8 '13 at 1:01 SamoanProgrammer 3542416 I don't know if there's vba for checking references, but I know that the excel object library is often different depending on the version of office installed. My suggestion would be to use late binding if the commands are the same...but there's probably a better way. –RowanC Aug 8 '13 at 1:27 Hi mate, I'm still quite new to VBA programming, so what do you mean by using late binding? –SamoanProgrammer Aug 8 '13 at 1:40 support.microsoft.com/kb/245115 –RowanC Aug 8 '13 at 1:55 thank you @SamoanProgrammer would you know how your users can add references if there is a password on the VBA code?
