Veröffentlicht am 31.07.2013Using Windows XP service pack 2 and getting this bug when trying to generate XML using ITR workbook I must admit that this was a strange bug for i personally didn't face it since i have a service pack 3 for windows XP but few people using service pack 3 also complain of this bug .One of my subscriber's while trying to fill the return (excel workbook ITR 1 )was getting this message .After analysing the message he got via his send email screenshot and going through his comments , i understood that it was not easy for me to replicate the problem because it seemed to be a operating system issue and in my parent laptop ,it didn't seem a good idea to virtualise (create a seperate system for this version of windows XP),so i virtualised my other laptop and yes the bug did came in service pack 2 , .Basically the VB coding done vide modules used to generate the Extended mark up document don't compile properly with versions of windows XP OS lesser than service pack 3 version.
Find/Replace add-in for Excel has stopped working, displaying the following error message: The error appears to be http://www.codedawn.com/index/-compile-error-in-hidden-module-message-in-excel a side effect of a recent update released by Microsoft. I https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/27735531/Compile-error-in-hidden-module-module1-when-opening-or-closing-Excel-2010.html don't know the details of exactly why this broke the add-in, and I'm not sure if it's caused by a Windows update or a Microsoft Office update. However, after scouring the Internet for a while, I came across a solution. Here are compile error the steps to restore the add-in's functionality: Close Excel Open a command prompt with admin privileges Run the following two commands: For 32-bit Windows: regsvr32 -u c:\windows\system32\mscomctl.ocx regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mscomctl.ocx For 64-bit Windows: regsvr32 -u c:\windows\syswow64\mscomctl.ocx regsvr32 c:\windows\syswow64\mscomctl.ocx Open ExcelUsually that solves the problem, although the same "Compile error in hidden module" error compile error in can sometimes be caused by corrupted Excel files. So if the above steps don't do the trick, there is one other possible solution you can try: Close Excel Open Windows Explorer In the Windows Explorer address bar, type %appdata%and press Enter In the resulting list of subfolders, find and open the Microsoft folder In the Microsoft folder, find and open the Forms subfolder In the Forms folder, rename or delete the following two files (if they are present): comctllib.exd mscomctllib.exd Open Excel (it will automatically recreate the aforementioned files as it needs them)Hope that helps! Solved Compile error in hidden module:module1 when opening or closing Excel 2010 Posted on 2012-05-29 MS Applications MS Office MS Excel 2 Verified Solutions 4 Comments 3,266 Views Last Modified: 2012-06-03 I get this error when I open or close Microsoft Excel 2010 on a Windows 7 machine. I have check all the add-ins and nothing is active. I have deleted the PDFMaker COM under add-ins, which was the only active COM and I still getting this error. I have also check to see is there is any "missing" references under the VB keys using ALT + F11. Any help is appreciated. Thanks Compile-error.png 0 Question by:jasondimaio Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google Best Solution byjasondimaio I rand Excel as the administrator and went to the add-ins under options and this time there was one Add-in that did not see before and this was checked, so I unchecked it and viola! The easiest way to do this is to press alt-F11 and then look in all the modules. I assume since it happens on everything you will find it in your always hidden personal workbook. However once you open it there you should be able to quickly find the module on the upper left hand side of the VBA editor and look at the code. If you need any help just post what you find. -SA 0 LVL 92 Overall: Level 92 MS Excel 61 MS Office 32 MS Applications 20 Message Active today Assisted Solution by:Patrick Matthews2012-05-29 It may also be an error in an add-in. Remove all add-ins, then add them back one at a time to see which one is the culprit. 0 Message Accepted Solution by:jasondimaio2012-05-29 I rand Excel as the administrator and went to the add-ins under options and this time there was one Add-in that did not see before and this was checked, so I unchecked it and viola!
