Published on Jul 31, 2013Using Windows XP service pack 2 and getting this bug when trying to generate XML using ITR workbook I must admit that this was a strange bug for i personally didn't face it since i have a service pack 3 for windows XP but few people using service pack https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taeQkJ5THvQ 3 also complain of this bug .One of my subscriber's while trying to fill the return (excel workbook ITR 1 )was getting this message .After analysing the message he got via his send email screenshot and going through his comments , i understood that it was not easy for me to replicate the problem because it seemed to be a operating system issue and in my parent laptop ,it didn't seem a good idea to virtualise (create a seperate system for this version of windows XP),so i virtualised my other laptop and yes the bug did came in service pack 2 , .Basically the VB coding done vide modules used to generate the Extended mark up document don't compile properly with versions of windows XP OS lesser than service pack 3 version...so people using windows XP service pack 2 might face this problem ,because when i installed windows XP service pack 2 in one of my 5 laptops , i got the same error ,Firstly pressing alt +F11 opens up the visual basic editor which shows the module which the developer has coded for the excel workbook to work and generate the XML ,Since clicking the XML throws up this err

Closing the document the dialog box reappears, click ok and program closes.I have reinstalled ME (over the top) and reinstalled office using install repair, also been to MS products and upgraded both fully, as I used restore to move back before the problem started.I am still getting the dialog compile error in box appearing when documents are opened, one doc is about three weeks old and still being worked on, the others 1 - 1 1/2 years old transfered from my old computer.Doc's set as archiveAny ideas anyone, I'm PLEASE HELP It's not speed that kills, it's the sudden stop at the end!!! Is Word the default editor in Outlook? - Malc Top Visual Basic Error by Jezebe » Mon, 08 Dec 2003 09:38:28 It means you have an AutoExec macro that has a problem in it. AutoExec macros run automatically when you start Word. The macro might be located in normal.dot, or in an add-in (any .dot file in Word's start-up folder -- listed on the Tools > Templates and Add-Ins dialog). If it's in an add-in, you need to check what the add-in is trying to do. A quick way to disable an add-in is to change its file extension (eg to .$$$) then re-start Word. If it's in normal.dot you should be able to delete it; but you need to ask why it's there in the first place. Top Visual Basic Error by Marv » Sun, 25 Jan 2004 01:34:27 When I start Word2000, I get a Microsoft Visual Basic Window that claims a runtime error '48' It says that a file was not found (QStartup.dll) This started appearing after I uninstalled a number of programs. Any idea what is causing this and how I can get rid of it? Top Visual Basic Error by Jonathan W » Sun, 25 Jan 2004 03:06:28 Hi Marv, There's an addin wasn't uninstalled when you uninstalled your other programs which is calling this DLL. Add-ins are stored in the Word startup folder, which is usually C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\Startup. If you navigate to that folder, you may find a number of Microsoft Word Templates there. Close Word and then move them somewhere else. When you re-open Word, the error should be gone. Now close Word again, and add the templates back one at a time, re-opening Word each time until you find the one causing the error. -- Regards Jonathan West - Word MVP http://www.yqcomputer.com/ Please reply to the newsgroup Top Visual Basic Error by anonymou » Mon, 26 Jan 2004 15:25:29 DID YOU TRY TO GO TO GOOGLE SEARCH AND TYPE ERROR 48?
