Well, from what I can read, sounds you try to compile ices from source. But, depending on your Linux or FreeBSD distribution, you should be sure that you have the devel package for libshout installed. Or, il you installed also libshout from sources in some non standard place, you should tell ices configure where your icecast package is installed. try: ./configure --help in ices sources to get a list of options. Note that some linux distributions, such as Fedora Core, opensuse, mandriva and more already have prebuilt Icecast and ices._________________Epsilon Friends Radio Icecast Radio on CentovaCast admin panel. I am new to linux so pleasebe forgiving.I downloaded http://icecast.xiph.narkive.com/l8vFZ2WG/compilling-error-ices-0-2-3-cvs both ices and libshout. several months now; my production servers run Debian, and these packages make using icecast on them even more easily manageable. They've been quite solid and reliable in all of the situations I've encountered, and I've had nothing but positive reports from a couple of testers. Since the libshout 2.0 release just happened, I've been dusting them off and making final preparations at getting the packages accepted into the main Debian distribution. In the process, I've created backports to Debian's current stable release, 3.0r1 (aka. Woody). Since I've seen a couple requests and reports here about people trying to run icecast 2 on Woody, I thought perhaps others might be interested in these packages. Backports of the current libogg and libvorbis 1.0.0 packages have also been provided, since Woody only has 1.0rc3. They're available at these apt sources: deb http://rune.thebasement.org/debian stable keegan deb-src http://rune.thebasement.org/debian stable keegan I'll be making new builds regularly, probably weekly. This error is probably the fault of your RPM. Please take up the issue with whoever created that package for you. -b --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'icecast-request@xxxxxxxx' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body.
