Configure Error Latex Not Found Aborting
Mon, 8 Oct 2012 21:51:47 +0200 Hi,Thanks for your answer and sorry for the late feedback. In fact I still had the same problem even with adding TeX Live to my PATH. $ echo $PATH/usr/lib/lightdm/lightdm:/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games:/usr/local/texlive/2012/bin/x86_64-linux $ sudo ./configure [sudo] password for andrea: checking for make... makechecking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yeschecking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -cchecking for date in ChangeLog... 2010-02-21checking for release in ChangeLog... 11.86 checking for emacs... /usr/bin/emacschecking if /usr/bin/emacs is XEmacs... nochecking for Emacs prefix... This line in config.log is suspicious, PATH: /usr/local/Library/ENV/4.3:/usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin Perhaps the installation process is overriding my PATH? If that's the case, then "/usr/texbin" should be added to the installation PATH, since this is https://github.com/Homebrew/legacy-homebrew/issues/14699 when the MacTeX binaries are found. https://gist.github.com/3622821 mistydemeo commented Sep 4, 2012 This works if you add --env=std to the install command, right? Ping @mxcl pvstodghill commented Sep 4, 2012 Yes, it does. I thought that I had tried that, but apparently not. Sorry about that... pvstodghill closed this Sep 4, 2012 mistydemeo commented Sep 4, 2012 Let's not close this yet, need to decide how to deal with this. mistydemeo reopened this Sep 4, 2012 adamv commented Sep 4, 2012 Yeah, superenv is on-purpose nuking the user's path, which of course causes problems when there are things that we actually want to be in the path. I suppose we could add depends_on :tex or some-such. Otherwise, we need a design statement for env :stdenv. mxcl added a commit that closed this issue Sep 13, 2012 mxcl http://emacs.stackexchange.com/questions/17084/auctex-installation-error-in-windows developers or posting ads with us Emacs Questions Tags Users Badges Unanswered Ask Question _ Emacs Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for those using, extending or developing Emacs. Indeed, I can't find it on the computer. Any hints on what I am doing wrong? auctex share|improve this question asked Oct 2 '15 at 23:08 Mike Anblips 606 Why don't you use ELPA? It's muuuuuuuuch easier to use and you'll get updates! You can find installation instructions via ELPA at gnu.org/software/auctex/manual/auctex.html#Installation read the first paragraph –giordano Oct 2 '15 at 23:53 Well...the installation actually went like a breeze! I do not understand why not put this information in the installation instructions directly, instead of in the bigger manual only. Thank you for the tip! It actually finds the TeX compiler and everything! –Mike Anblips Oct 3 '15 at 9:20 add a comment| active oldest votes Know someone who can answer?
