Any other solutions besides uninstall this V8.1.4 and/or install the whole core defination under V8.2.x? However, I HIGHLY recommend that everyone updates to the 9.0 version. With the speed at which the malware industry changes, you need to keep your technology up to date to ensure your protection. If you are using an old version you are not as protected as you should be, so once again, I highly recommend you get the latest version. Couldn't get server web installer info Started by antivirus user , Dec 20 2014 08:06 AM Couldnt update Best Answer CeciliaB , 22 December 2014 - 04:52 PM Hi antivirus user,That message occurs when there is a problem with the internet connection, slow, firewall is blocking, a proxy server is used and similar situations. Please, try to install using the standalone installer instead: http://www.lavasoft....alone-installer Go to the full post Please log in to reply 11 replies to this topic #1 antivirus user antivirus user Newbie Members 6 posts Posted 20 December 2014 - 08:06 AM Hi, I am a new user here. I just register an account. I have been using Ad Aware antivirus since this year. I think this is the best free antivirus ever. Most of the malware available today are being detected by Ad Aware antivirus & is being updated daily through the definition files. Ever since I use this Ad Aware, I don't have any malware problems any longer. I don't have any problem using Ad Aware until yesterday. I can't find any answer in your faqs or forum, so I have to post the question & problem on this forum. I couldn't update from version 11.4.6792.0 to version 11.5.202.7299 I had downloaded the update file from download.cnet.com with no problem. The problem came after I try to install the update. I got an error message "Couldn't get server web installer info". Is this problem temporaly or permanent? I don't know! In the past months, I can update my Ad Aware with no problem whatsoever. I had read the previous posts in this forum. For your info, I don't use any proxy settings in my Internet Explorer. I had checked. For firewall, I even turn it completely off to try to update, but unfortunately still couldn't do so! There shouldn't be any problems in my Internet Explorer settings & my firewall because nobody is changing them. Besides, I don't have any problem before for updating my free Ad Aware antivirus. Before I forget, my ISP provider lately may have trouble with their server. They change my connection toGoogle Public DNS server. Is this the root of the problem? But I don't have any problem with my internet connection. I can surf the web easily. I am using Windows XP SP3. 2 GB of Ram. Any solution would be appreciated.Thank you!
