However, I HIGHLY recommend that everyone updates to the 9.0 version. With the speed at which the malware industry changes, you need to keep your technology up to date to ensure your protection. If you are using an old version you are not as protected as you should be, so once again, I highly recommend you get the latest version. I just register an account. I have been using Ad Aware antivirus since this year. I think this is the best free antivirus ever. Most of the malware available today are being detected by Ad Aware antivirus & is being updated daily through the definition files. Ever since I use this connection error check Ad Aware, I don't have any malware problems any longer. I don't have any problem using Ad Aware until yesterday. I can't find any answer in your faqs or forum, so I have to post the question & problem on this forum. I couldn't update from version 11.4.6792.0 to version 11.5.202.7299 I had downloaded the update file from download.cnet.com with no problem. The problem came after I try to install the update. I got an error message "Couldn't get server web installer info". Is this problem temporaly or permanent? I don't know! In the past months, I can update my Ad Aware with no problem whatsoever. I had read the previous posts in this forum. For your info, I don't use any proxy settings in my Internet Explorer. I had checked. For firewall, I even turn it completely off to try to update, but unfortunately still couldn't do so! There shouldn't be any problems in my Internet Explorer settings & my firewall because nobody is changing them. Besides, I don't have any problem before for updating my free Ad Aware antivirus. Before I forget, my ISP provider lately may have trouble with their server. They change my connection toGoogle Public D

If you have paid for the product, you can contact the Lavasoft support team. Which antivirus program (or recently uninstalled) and firewall do you have? Are you sure that the Ad-Aware installation program is allowed by the firewall to fetch files from internet? Is the computer connected to internet through a proxy server? Proxy server settings: Start Internet Explorer. In the Tools menu select Internet options, followed by Connection tab and then click the LAN Settings button. If the check box Use a proxy server for your LAN (These settings will not apply to dial-up or VPN connections) is selected, a proxy server is used. If you haven't configured it yourself, it can be due to an infection or an antivirus program. Please, remove the check mark, if you want to use Ad-Aware, and click OK twice.
