I got the following as the error message when I send the test e-mail: SMTP -> ERROR: Failed to connect to server: Connection timed out (110) SMTP Error: Could not connect to SMTP host. I've found the same issue with the module SMTP Authentication Support. Any idea what could have caused this? Any good suggestions for debugging this? If the mail server is different from your web server (i.e. not localhost) I'd check with your hosting provider whether they enabled some sort of firewall that blocks connections on the SMTP port (port 25 usually). Riot are currently looking for a permanent fix; however this is the current temporary fix: Windows Fix: -> Open your "Network and Sharing Center" -> Select connection error "Change adapter settings" -> Right click your adapter, and select "Properties" -> Locate the field for "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)", and double-click it. -> On the bottom, select "Use the following DNS server addresses, and input the following: Preferred DNS server: 8.8.8.8 Alternate DNS server: 8.8.4.4 -> Click OK twice, and retry the gameIf this does not fix your error, go to Internet Explorer, Internet options and reset to defaults, connection error fail then change security level to Medium or lower. I do NOT know how to do this on a Mac, so dont ask, however, if someone is to post a fix for how to do it on the Mac, I will happily Edit, copy and paste it in this post EDIT: This apparently is EXACTLY THE SAME solution for Mac's too......(Cannot confirm as I dont own a Mac personally) Here's the re-worded solution to how to fix the Mac: Mac Fix:-> Go to System Preferences. -> Click on Network. -> Select the first connection in your list and click Advanced. -> Select the DNS tab and add 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 to the list of DNS servers. The application works fine on > IE10 but when I load the application in IE9, I get the dreaded 'No Living Connections' error. In the documentation for ElasticSearch it states: "We also test in IE 9, but there is a known issue with making non-standard (get/post) requests across domains.". This may be due to the fact that 'standard' requests are the only requests allowed by XDomainRequest which, I believe IE9 uses for cross domain requests: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/ieinternals/archive/2010/05/13/xdomainrequest-restrictions-limitations-and-workarounds.aspx There was some thought that in order to establish the connection or keep it alive, a 'HEAD' request would need to be made and not being able to make a XDomainRequest via HEAD could be the issue. The thought was that perhaps forcing the client.search method to use a 'GET' request by setting the 'method' parameter would in fact fix it. In testing it seems that instantiating a new client and making the most generic match_all query with a 'GET' request fails $: client = elasticsearch.Client({ host: ELASTICSEARCH_URL}) => EsApiClient {close: function, transport: Transport, cluster: ClusterNS, indices: IndicesNS, _namespaces: Array[2]…} $: client.search({method: 'GET', body: JSON.stringify({query: {match_all: {}}})}) => undefined => Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'reject' of undefined elasticsearch.js?body=1:27265 Note that
