Check The Security Settings For The Network And Try Again Psp
i have a god of war red psp with the latest firmware (4.05)i went on infrastructure mode scanned and it found my router no problem, with 100% connection signal. i have a wpa(tkip) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jo_ZP1OS2bw connection. I entered the password which i know works because we have one PC and two laptops connected fine with that password. i went on easy and i entered all the info correctly. However when i enter it and test connection it gives me an error that reads "a connection error has occurred. A connection to the access point could not be established. Check the http://www.gamespot.com/forums/playstation-nation-1000002/psp-will-not-connect-to-internet-plzzzz-help-26529831/ security sttings for the network and try again."i am using a Airplus xtreme G wireless router (D-link) and am using norton protection for virus, firewall etc. (and yes i have the wlan switch turned on) now plz if anyone has any idea why i can't connect plz write somthing. This is really F***king annoying. I have read many forums and none have helped fox my problem. My PSP can connection error scan this wifi connection but when it tries to connect it says A connection error has occurred. Check the security settings for the network and try again. I googled it and found that there are lots of guys facing the exact same problem, but could not found the solution. I tried everything but of no avail. At present i run my router @ 54mbps as suggested by few forums, and using no security. P.S. Using this router i can access the psp 3000 internet wifi connection on my Desire S, psp wifi share|improve this question asked Jul 19 '11 at 17:28 Rakesh Juyal 2042823 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 3 down vote What type of encryption do you have on your router? PSPs may not support newer encryption protocols (WPA2). If use an older protocol like WEP or WPA, you may have better luck. Edit After some quick googling, I found this article which may provide some insight. It seems WPA2/AES doesn't work, but you can use WPA2/TKIP-AES. Check your router's administration settings and you should find an option to change this. share|improve this answer answered Jul 19 '11 at 21:40 Dave McClelland 12.2k1969116 ah! this is not working :( –Rakesh Juyal Jul 24 '11 at 6:50 He said he is running no security. –Resorath Jul 24 '11 at 8:27 add a comment| up vote 2 down vote You mentioned that you're running it at 54mbps which is the 802.11g (note the "g") standard. According to this, the PSP only supports 802.11b. So, you'll have to go into the configuration of your router and change it to 802.11b or, if it supports dual band, 802.11b/g. Unfortunately, if your router doesn't support both at the same time, you'll have to use the older, slower one (802.11b). As was mentioned by Dave McClelland, the security method is also important, however if it is open as you
