My Psp Keeps Saying A Connection Error Has Occurred
to the top How to access wifi connection in PSP? up vote 2 down vote favorite I just bought a Netgear router 'WNR1000v2'. My PSP can scan this wifi connection but when it tries to connect it says A connection error has occurred. Check the security settings for the network and try again. I googled it and found that there are lots of guys facing the exact same psp a connection error has occurred 80431075 problem, but could not found the solution. I tried everything but of no avail. At present i run my router @ 54mbps as suggested by few forums, and using no security. P.S. Using this router i can access the wifi connection on my Desire S, psp wifi share|improve this question asked Jul 19 '11 at 17:28 Rakesh Juyal 2042823 add a comment| 3 Answers 3 active oldest votes up vote 3 down vote What type of encryption do you have on your router? PSPs may not support newer encryption protocols (WPA2). If use an older protocol like WEP or WPA, you may have better luck. Edit After some quick googling, I found this article which may provide some insight. It seems WPA2/AES doesn't work, but you can use WPA2/TKIP-AES. Check your router's administration settings and you should find an option to change this. share|improve this answer answered Jul 19 '11 at 21:40 Dave McClelland 12.2k1969116 ah! this is not working :( –Rakesh Juyal Jul 24 '11 at 6:50 He said he is running no security. –Resorath Jul 24 '11 at 8:27 add a comment| up vote 2 down vote You mentioned that you're running it at 54mbp

Dave Taylor / iPod and MP3 Player Help / 968 Comments I love my Sony PSP, but I cannot figure out how to get successfully connected to the Internet. I know it’s a wifi system, I http://www.askdavetaylor.com/connect_to_the_internet_with_my_sony_psp/ know I need to be able to see an access point, but I cannot get it all working. Help! You are definitely not alone in your quest to get the Sony Playstation Portable (PSP) device successfully connected to the Internet. http://community.us.playstation.com/t5/PlayStation-Network-Support/quot-Access-point-not-detected-quot/td-p/41730567 In fact, it’s hard enough that this is probably one of the most common questions I see here at AskDaveTaylor, so I think it deserves a long, full explanation. If you follow along step-by-step, I’m sure you’ll succeed. First off, connection error you need to get to the main menu from wherever you are on your PSP. You can do that by pressing the Home button, a tiny button just to the lower left of the screen. Now you’ll want to move left (pressing the “<” button) until you get to Settings, then down (pressing the “V” button) until you get to Network Settings: Now you’ll have two choices: “Ad Hoc” is when you want to connection two PSPs together with any sort psp connection error of Internet wifi base station / access point involved, and “Infrastructure Mode” is when you connect to your local wifi device. The latter’s what we want: You’ll probably only have the one choice of New Connection , but if you don’t, choose it anyway: First option is to specify a mnemonic connection name. The default here is “Connection 2” but yours might be “Connection 1”, or similar. I recommend you actually enter a different name so you’ll be able to remember what location works where. To enter a new connection name, press the “X” button and you’ll get to the “keyboard” screen: When you’re done struggling to enter your selected name 🙂 move to the green “Enter” box and press the “X” button. Now you’ll be ready for the big important step: a Network Scan : If everything’s working well with your device and you’ve turned on the WLAN switch ( How to turn on the PSP WLAN Switch ) you’ll see the following status message: Hopefully, you’ll see at least one network listed, if not more. If you don’t see any networks, then you’re out of luck. If the only networks you see have some sort of security setting, either WPA or WEP, then you must know the security password to access that network . Once you’re ready, the next step you’ll want to take is to select an access point: In this case I’m going to se

I connect the ethernet cord directly into the modem and get the message that there is not ethernet cord connected. I reset my modem, bought a new router(needed one anyways) and reset my ps3 and still "no access point detected." Going to the connection settings for wireless I select easy, scan and get no results despite the fact that I live in an apartment complex and there are at least 5 people around me that I can pick a signal up from.If I take my ps3 to a friends house I have no problem connecting to the internet via router or ethernet. I bring his ps3 to my place and get the same results of no access point detected.Cable company says there is nothing wrong. Playstation has no clue. Router company can't help much either. What is blocking me from connecting to the internet via my ps3? I have no problem connecting my laptop and phone but no go for my ps3.Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Solved! Go to Solution.
