PSPs may not support newer encryption protocols (WPA2). If use an older protocol like WEP or WPA, you may have better luck. Edit After some quick googling, I found this article which may provide some insight. It seems WPA2/AES doesn't work, but you can use WPA2/TKIP-AES. Check your router's administration settings and you should find an option to change this. share|improve this answer answered Jul 19 '11 at 21:40 Dave McClelland 12.2k1969116 ah! this is not working :( –Rakesh Juyal Jul 24 '11 at 6:50 He said he is running no security. –Resorath Jul 24 '11 at 8:27 add a comment| up vote 2 down vote You mentioned that you're running it at 54mbps which is the 802.11g (note the "g") standard. According to this, the PSP only supports 802.11b. So, you'll have to go into the configuration of your router and change it to 802.11b or, if it supports dual band, 802.11b/g. Unfortunately, if your router doesn't support both at the same time, you'll have to use the older, slower one (802.11b). As was mentioned by Dave McClelland, the security method is also important, however if it is open as you say, it shouldn't be what's stopping you. I

I have connected wireless before back when I had my old psp and a different modem. I am trying now to connect with a NetGear WNR2000v2 router. The PSP is detecting the router and I've got a 100% signal strength but it will not connect. The wireless network does have a security key and the laptop will connect. My PS3 is connected wired to the router btw.I scan and it picks up the network as WPA-PSK (TKIP); it picks up the SSID. I choose WLAN security setting WPA-PSK (TKIP) and enter in the passcode and it will not connect. I've tried switching to the WPA-PSK (AES) which is what the laptop connectiion says and it still doesn't connect.I've already updated to the latest firmware as well. I just want to download Tetris....can I connect the PSP to the PS3 and do that?Sorry about all the questions. Thanks. I fixed it by manually entering all the information. As a last resort you can always download Tetris to your PS3 and transfer it to the PSP. “Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed.
