java.lang.exception: IOException in sending Request :: Connection refused: connect tips Oracle Error Tips by Burleson Consulting Question:I am using 10g release 2. I can log onto the Enterprise Manager db console ok, but when I refresh a page, I get the following error on the header of the db console:java.lang.Exception: IOException in sending Request :: Connection refused: connectWhen I check the status of the db console with 'emctl status dbconsole', I get the following error:EM Daemon is not running.I have also tried stopping and re-starting the service with:'emctl stop dbconsole''emctl start dbconsole'but to no avail. I still get the same symptoms. Can anyone please give me some pointers on how to correct this?Answer: First, dump OEM, it's a GUI for beginners who do not understand the Oracle command syntax. You can do everything OEM does, and a thousand times more, using native dictionary scripts. Start by getting the free Oracle dictionary reference poster:http://www.dba-oracle.com/poster.htmThen, start writing your own scripts!
