Keycodev2.dll Missing
if I'm just being thick here or what.. In my application, I make use of Crystal Reports. Now, I know that I have to include a Merge Module named Crystal_regwiz2003.msm in the Setup Project. After Adding the merge module, the merge module exposes a property called Lincence key. In there you type the keycode supllied to you when you've registered the product. Problem is: I have followed all these steps, but still, the client computer complains about the KeyCodeV2.dll. So, I want to know, is there anymore special tricks to get this to work on the client machine ¿ All my Articles Hannes Reply With Quote October 23rd, 2006,05:01 AM #2 AnimalX View Profile View Forum Posts Member Join Date Jul 2006 Location At home Posts 70 Re: [2003] KeyCodeV2.dll for Crystal Reports Hi Hannes, I've had that same problem as well and it's always related to the license key. Below is a Step-By-Step method that has always worked for me. 1. Right click on the setup project in solution explorer and go to

Get your Crystal report working on your customers server (Cannot find KeycodeV2.dll, or invalid keycode) Posted by Peter van Ooijen on January 6, 2004 Actually I do like Crystal Reports. It may not be perfect but the way it works with datasets, its grouping a selecting options and the web report viewer are very workable. Deploying Crystal Report to a web server is another story. When you test your app on your localhost all seems to be working well but when http://forums.codeguru.com/showthread.php?403721-RESOLVED-2003-KeyCodeV2-dll-for-Crystal-Reports the app is installed on the webserver it produces the notorious Cannot find KeycodeV2.dll, or invalid keycode error message. The Crystal site has loads on support on that which tells you to update some registry settings. There is a big chance that you will not find these settings. What to do next is hidden a lot better in the docs. The crystal http://codebetter.com/petervanooijen/2004/01/06/get-your-crystal-report-working-on-your-customers-server-cannot-find-keycodev2-dll-or-invalid-keycode/ viewer uses a couple of dll's which are installed on your development machine. They are part of CR for VS.NET but not of the .NET framework. If there is no vs.net installed on the webserver these files will be missing on the server. A deployment project in VS.NET will not see the dependencies and will not include them in the setup. What worked for me (destilled out of the loads of CR docs) was creating a setup project with a couple of merge modules Crystal_Database_Access2003.msm Crystal_Database_Access2003_enu.msm Crystal_Managed2003.msm Crystal_regwiz2003.msm VC_User_CRT71_RTL_X86_--.msm (used for reports based on ADO.NET) VC_User_STL71_RTL_X86_--.msm (used for reports based on ADO.NET) The regwiz module has an License key property, here you enter the Crystal license key found in the help about of VS.NET. It will read something like AAP50-GS00000-U7000RN. Installing this dummy app will enable CR in all your webservers applications. On one server the setup was a webapp, on another server we had to create a Windows forms setup before the server would see CR. Blog on, Peter This entry was posted in Out+of+control. Keycodev2.dll is a type of DLL file associated with Keycode Module developed by Crystal Decisions, Inc. for the Windows Operating System. The latest known version of Keycodev2.dll is 8.0.3.182, which was produced for Windows. This DLL file carries a popularity rating of 1 stars and a security rating of "UNKNOWN". What Are DLL Files? DLL ("dynamic link library") files such as keycodev2.dll are small programs, similar to EXE ("executable") files, which allow multiple software programs to share the same functionality (eg. printing). For example, let's say you are running Windows and editing a document in Microsoft Word. The DLL file that controls printing does not need to load unless it's function is needed - eg. you decide to print your document. When you select "Print", Microsoft Word calls the printer DLL file, and it is loaded into memory (RAM) at that time. If you want to print a document in another program, Adobe Acrobat for example, that same printer DLL file will be used as well. Why Do I Have DLL Errors? Because they are shared files, DLL files exist outside of the software application itself. Although this provides many benefits for software developers, this separation also provides an opportunity for problems to occur.Quite simply, if Windows cannot properly load your keycodev2.dll file, you will encounter an error message. Please see "Causes of keycodev2.dll Errors" below for more information. When Do DLL Errors Occur?
