problems were pretty minor, like long discovery time for media servers and occasional errors during media streaming). It seems to work ok, but its started refusing to save any settings. Whenever I click on "save", it switches to a blank screen. The URL is "http://192.168.0.200/apply.cgi". If I reload the page I was on, the setting hasn't changed. Even if I wait a few seconds, it doesn't make any difference. When I first turned the router on after flashing it, I had the same problem and the dd-wrt wiki said that a hard-reset might be required after a firmware flash. I did that (held in the reset switch for 30s), and it worked ok for awhile. I went back later to change something else, and the problem was back though.I obviously don't want to redo all the router settings every time I need to change something. Anyone know if I can get around this somehow? bex0rs Ars Scholae Palatinae Tribus: Oregon Registered: Jan 6, 2001Posts: 789 Posted: Fri Mar 14, 2008 12:26 pm Try a different browser and/or clear cache. WRT54GL Discussion in 'DD-WRT Firmware' started by anderz, Oct 19, 2006. anderz Network Guru Member I just installed DD-WRT on my WRT54GL and it`s working ok. But I can`t change the settings in web GUI. everytime I press save changes, I get sent to 192.168.1.1/apply.cgi which is a blank page. if I then reload to 192.168.1.1 the settings have not been saved.... anyone have a solution to this? -Anders anderz, Oct 19, 2006 #1 tomei Guest Try using internet explorer. Sometimes it doesn't save with Firefox. tomei, Oct 20, 2006 #2 anderz Network Guru Member I tried that.. in IE7.0 I get the page can not be displayed error when ever I try access another page then the start page... anderz, Oct 21, 2006 #3 spiff72 LI http://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?t=136816 Guru Member I think this happened to me too at first. I think I had entered the wrong login/password, and it seemed like I was in "read/only" mode. I tried IE 6 and it worked (I was using FF at first). The problem was I couldn't get it to ask for the password again after I had done it wrong the first time in Firefox. spiff72, Oct 23, 2006 #4 ifican Network Guru Member Have not used dd-wrt so i dont know for sure, but http://www.linksysinfo.org/index.php?threads/unable-to-apply-settings-on-wrt54gl.17696/ other versions i have used all seem to cache my login, so when i go back to the page it as stated never asks me for username and password. There are 2 ways to get around this i can think of, 1)change your IP, or easier 2) delete your browser cookies and go back to the page. It should once again prompt you for username and password and then should proceed as normal. ifican, Oct 23, 2006 #5 spiff72 LI Guru Member ifican said: Have not used dd-wrt so i dont know for sure, but other versions i have used all seem to cache my login, so when i go back to the page it as stated never asks me for username and password. I tried both clearing the cache and deleting cookies in Firefox, and never got it "cleared"... Strange. spiff72, Oct 23, 2006 #6 ifican Network Guru Member Very strange indeed. Ill do some poking around and see if i can find anything on it. Will repost if i do.... ifican, Oct 23, 2006 #7 Bazzek Network Guru Member anderz said: I just installed DD-WRT on my WRT54GL and it`s working ok. Location: Easthampton, Massachusetts I did the samething as the person in this thread did: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=171341&highlight=DD-WRT Same router, same firmware upgrade files, etc. Problem: The firmware upgrade for the 3 files was a total success. I am http://forum.pcmech.com/threads/dd-wrt-success-but.172703/ able to change connection type, see new interface, successfully log into the router, but the problem is when I go to the "Status" tab, and I hit "connect" under the internet tab, it does not want to connect. I am using my older router now, but with the new one, the DSL and Router Lights were fine like normal. So I do not get WAN IP address. I have DHCP disabled, because dd wrt I have private IP address for each computer(two computers. Router is 192.168.1.1, I am .2, and my brother is .3) . I am pretty sure I have the same settings on the new firmware that I did on the previous firmware. Everything seems to work just fine, except like I said, when I hit "connect", it does not wan to connect. LAN connection on my computer says it is "connected". OK, DHCP is irelevant to your problem because that only pertains to PCs on the LAN side. What do you have in the basic setup, internet setup, for connection type, and did you try re-entering your login and password? ktkendall, Dec 31, 2006 #2 Markoman01027 Joined: Jul 11, 2002 Messages: 2,633 Location: Easthampton, Massachusetts I dont recall the options right off the bat. But I made sure that the connection type was the same as for my previous firmware and previous router. I am on my other router right now. If I decide to plug in the other one, I will double check everything and post back with the results. Thanks!
