I don't remember for sure pptp dd wrt setup what version i was on before, but I believe it was one of the v23 builds. When I try to connect using the built-in Windows client, it quickly gets to pptp dd wrt server "Verifying username and password..." before timing out and giving me Error 619. Details: Linksys WRT150N router DD-WRT v24-sp1 mini I have also tried the vpn and standard versions. I am using a dyndns.org account. I've used numerous combinations of settings for the pptp server that I've seen on various forums, they all produce the same result. But the ones that

used to work before I upgraded were as follows: Server: 192.168.117.1 (router's lan ip) IP Addresses: 192.168.117.90-99 (outside of DHCP range) Chap secrets: username * password * I am able to connect to the pptp server on the lan calling the router's lan ip address. The failure only happens from the wan side. I believe I'm looking at some sort of a firewall or routing issue here. I don't see anything about the PPTP server or its interface when I check iptables --list or ifconfig. In my case I had DMZ enabled which conflicted with PPTP and prevented the connection. I disabled that and it started working. I use a v24-preSP2 build and recommend the same to you. Check http://www.dd-wrt.com/dd-wrtv3/dd-wrt/hardware.html for the version recommended for your router (11522). In my configuration on Services->PPTP I have PPTP Server Enabled Broadcast Support Enabled Server IP 0.0.0.0 Client IP 192.168.1.160 (O

WRT54GS v1.0 w/ DD-WRT v.24 SP1 VPN - Not working Discussion in 'Networking & Security' started by NightOps, Jan 12, 2009. Jan 12, 2009 #1 NightOps [H]ard|Gawd Messages: 1,157 Joined: Aug 13, 2004 As stated above...I have a Linksys WRT54GS V1.0 running DD-WRT v.24 SP1 VPN. I have a Windows 2003 R2 Server running DHCP/DNS for the LAN Router is the VPN Server, with PPTP/IPSec/L2TP pass-through enabled. I also have Port Forwarding setup for 1723, 500, 50-51 to the router IP (192.168.1.1) Under PPTP Server I have the following: Server IP: 192.168.1.1 Client IP: 192.168.1.151-160 (outside of the server's IP Pool range) CHAPS-secret user * password * Loopback: disabled I have even set the router as the DMZ...still no luck I am using the Windows XP Network Connection client. When I go to connect, it hops right to Verifying username/password, but after about 15 seconds, it throws an Error 619, port was closed. I've heard odd stories about a lack of true VPN support on the WRT54G/GS models that cause GRE packets to not get passed properly. I'm half tempted to get the DIR-655, but I want to check all possibilities before I go out and buy a $100 piece of hardware that may have the same issue(s). I've verified that my IP address that I'm connecting from @ work does not fall within the range of IPs potentially assigned by the VPN. Also, if I'm sitting @ home, I can connect on VPN locally without any problems on my Vista x86 machine. Thanks!
