Question, How come the HP tech support doesn`t know about this fix? I spent many wasted hours on the phone with them.. I also had my PC at Firedog for several days with no results.. Thanks again! OK so i'm on my 3rd reinstall of windows after dell tech people have jacked it up a few times I'm about to toss my laptop out the window, any help would be stunning. This last install of decoder error windows on my Inspiron E1505, Media Center isn't working. I get a message that says "Decoder Error- the video decoder has either malfunctioned or isnt installed" I've talked to the dell tech people and they want me to spend 200 bucks for them to fix it...I think not.
