fine, just didn't have the 2005 options. So, I sent it back and they loaded the 2005 version. Well, I just got it back the other day. When i try to watch "live TV", I get http://forum.byopvr.com/t/media-center-xp-2005-decoder-error/2394 a decoder error. The exact error is, "Decoder Error - The video decoder has either malfunctioned or is not installed. Please resart Media Center and/or the computer." I have done everything i can think of. I have installed the trial version of the nVidia decoder. I have installed Power DVD. Uninstalled everything. After I installed the nVidia decoder, The DVD stuff works now, but when i start the Live TV in media center, The computer shuts down. decoder error No error or anything. Just reboots itself back to the desktop. I am out of ideas, any information would help alot. Also, next time this happens you should get a Blue Screen with an error...you will have to hard reboot(hold the power button in for 5 seconds/until the computer shuts off) anyway write down what that screen says and post it back here...if no blue screen appears and it still reboots then goto "Start" "Run" and type eventvwr and look under the "Application" or "System" logs for errors(Red circle with a white X in it) and post what that says back here... these errors can help in troubleshooting these problems Casper135 2005-06-08 22:17:11 UTC #3 I have downloaded and installed the WinDVD 5. Then I started Media Center and tried the live TV and I got a error about the decoder already in use by another application. So I removed Intervideo (WinDVD) from my startup and rebooted. I can get the Live TV to work now. But when I try to play a DVD in Media Center it just goes to a black screen and freezes up. I can play a DVD in Media Player 10 and WinDVD just f
