Here is what I have done so far: -Removed and re-seated each individual RAM module -Removed and re-seated hard drive I have also removed tried to boot to the bios with the RAM and HArd drive removed but still get the flashing amber 3&4. If you've removed the RAM and they are still showing 3,4 then it seems there's something else causing this. Can you try the steps below to narrow it down to what's at fault: 1. If you can remove all components - DVD drive, any graphics cards/PCI cards - and then power on and see if the issue changes. If no change, 2. Disconnect the I/O panel - this will stop the power button being used and the LEDS will be off. Plug in the power cable and it should power on automatically and Memory beeps may be heard. 3. If the beeps are heard it indicates the front panel is at fault, If no beeps........ 4.Are you able to clear the CMOS in the system? It involves having the p

Gepubliceerd op 17 okt. 2013Dell Optiplex 390 came in with a no boot complaint. Got diagnostic light 3 and blue power led followed by immediate shutdown. Did the usual diagnostic procedures: different ram, psu, fan, unplugged all non-essential connectors. After all this, and some google-fu, I came to the conclusion it was a bad motherboard. Got the new mobo in from Dell; same problem. Now banging head. Tried everything again, including putting the CPU in a different machine. Same conclusion; bad mobo number 2. While on the phone with the Dell tech, for some reason, I thought to try a different power button harness. Don't ask me why I thought to do this because I have absolutely no idea. Pulled a power button harness from another machine (Optiplex 3010 waiting in the lab for delivery to customer), plugged in the harness, damn thing booted right up. De
