just installed a new motherboard since thats what the dell thing i saw when googled said to do. I also went into bios hit load defaults even though never changed them. The guy booted to utility partition ran the tests on motherboard and processors all passed but when ran the preboot assessment test still get the error. Basically symptoms are that it will freeze up for like 2 minutes then unfreeze in web browsing and gaming and in games just loading like mw2 it takes 3 minutes for the game to unfreeze once the game start menu pops up and crysis i know is hard on pcs but i have it set to optimal settings and still freezing it wouldn't even get to load screen at first now it runs but chugs bad and sometimes completely locks up pc even though friends with lesser pc parts can run higher settings. Whenever I click join lobby in left 4 dead 2 it will freeze for like 1-2 minutes before does anything then puts me in the lobby and firefox will completely lock up and crash. He also tested temperature function said was fine. I made a thread on toms hardware the one guy said he reset cmos default error went away i tried that no luck one guy said they replaced his mb and got new pc still had error. Should i try uninstalling xps thermal app? Could the killer nic card be causing it

I changed the CMOS setting to default, ran the test again, and I got the same error. Called Dell tech support, they told me that they are going to replace my board. My original problem is that Win7 is taking more than normal to start (2 - 3 minutes to be ready). I got an Intel C2D P8700, 4GB RAM DDR2 800MHz, ATI Radeon 4570HD 512mb, 250GB Samsung HD 5400RPM. It should start fast, since the HD has no fragments, the win reg is ok and I have not crappy services or programs at startup. Does any1 know what is this error about? I have been trying some tips that tipoo gave me and anyway I'll let them to replace my board. Any other advice? Thanks juanxhp, Feb 9, 2010 #1 Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell? Super Moderator Reputations: 2,960 Messages: 8,233 Likes Received: 58 Trophy Points: 216 Did you reset the CMOS configuration in BIOS, or did you try disconnecting the CMOS battery altogether? If the former, I think you should try the latter. Disconnect all power sources from the laptop, pull out the CMOS battery, hold the power button for a while... and then re-connect power sources and try the test again. Commander Wolf, Feb 9, 2010 #2 juanxhp Notebook Enthusiast Reputations: 0 Messages: 13 Likes Received: 0 Trophy Points: 5 Only tried in BIOS. But I wonder how that could cause Win7 to start that slow, that was my original problem. This is getting me nuts x) I will try with the battery. I meant as well, what is this error about.
