So, I really hope you can "put up" with me & my questions. The ONLY http://forum.imgburn.com/index.php?/topic/15104-burn-failure-due-to-io-device-error/ way I'm going to learn is to ask questions & learn from other people who know a lot more than I do. I've been having a very frustrating & difficult time trying to burn onto a VERBATIM DVD-R disk (4.7 Gb) a video I have in an external e-SATA back-up drive (connected to my PC via an e-SATA cable). This video (called "The West Vol.1") consists of vob, bup & ifo files (+ 1 pls file). Just minutes into the attempted burn, an ImgBurn error message came up: "Cannot read from file: J:\Video (The WEST Vol.1)\VIDEO_TS\VIDEO_TS.VOB". [In "MyComputer" in my PC, the external e-SATA drive is "J" drive]. And then, it also gives the "Reason: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error". This been happening time & again! Type a question or keyword Help Skype Everything else Error messages Why do I get a Disk I/O error when I try to sign in to Skype for Windows desktop? If you can’t sign in to Skype due to a disk I/O error, the first step is to make sure you’re using the latest version of Skype. Download thelatest version of Skype If you still get the error after downloading the latest version, we can help you solve it below. Need to make a call right now?If you don't have time to work through these steps, you can use Skype for Web (Beta) to make calls or send messages direct from your browser. You don’t need to download or install Skype. Launch Skype for Web now. To resolve the disk I/O error, choose your operating system below. Windows 10 There are two possible fixes for the Disk I/O error. The first is to delete and re-create your user folder. The second is to change the permissions for your temporary files. To delete and recreate your user folder: Quit Skype. If you can see the Skype icon in the task bar, right-click it and select Quit Skype. If you can’t see it, right-click the task bar and click Task Manager, then select Skype and click End Task. Pressthe Windows and R keys on your keyboard at the same time. In the Run window, type %appdata%\Skype and click OK. In the File Explorer window that opens, find the folder with the same name as your Skype Name (if you’re signing in with a Microsoft account, the folder may start with live#3 instead). You’re about to delete this folder, which means your chat history will be deleted. If you want to save your chat history first, open the folder and copy the main.db file (depending on your Windows settings, you might not see the .db extension)and the chatsync folder to another location. You can transfer them back later, although we can’t guarantee that your entire chat history will be restored. Delete the folder. RestartSkype and sign in. The folder you deleted in step 5 will be recreated. If you saved your chat history, copy the files back into the folder with the same name as your Skype Name. If the above solution didn't fix the problem, you may have moved your temporary files to a location outside your profile and are missing some necessary permissions. Try the following steps. Your temporary folder is located by default atC:\Temp, but you may have set a different location for temporary files. Quit Skype (see step 1
