Error 721 Dial Up
to browse the internet. This error may principally stem from a third party error 678 dial up program, such as a download accelerator, which blocks access to the internet on the system. Windows does not recognise error 629 dial up this as such but recognises it as the ports are blocked, preventing access to the internet and displaying error 619. To reconcile this error, follow the steps below. What Causes Error https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/314485 619? The error may present itself in the following form: Error 619, "The port was disconnected." This error will usually appear when attempting a connection to the internet. The ports of the computer are basically the access to it via external networks such as the internet. It allows these networks to access the computer and share data. If any of these ports are http://www.personalcomputerfixes.com/internet-errors/how-to-fix-error-619/ blocked, such as by a third party program or by a firewall, Windows cannot distinguish this between a disconnected port or a blocked port. This essentially means that, whilst the error displayed may read something different, it is usually the fault of a 3rd party program which restricts access to certain ports which are required for connection to the internet. To repair this, carry out the steps below. How To Fix Error 619 Step 1 - Disable Any Internet - Related Program As mentioned before, a 3rd party internet related program can prevent the ports from operating properly on the system and thus an error is produced. It is therefore logical to suspend the services that are operating using the internet. This includes programs such as download accelerators, peer to peer services, BitTorrent, Sporcle etc. These can easily be stopped by: Move your mouse down to the notification tray next to the clock in the bottom right Hover over any icons which are either not recognised or are known internet related If you recognise any that use the internet, stop these services immediately. This can be done
Ruza Guest Hi, Thanks for reading this. I have a problem with my dial up connection. Neither of them work after installing SP4. I can connect and after 1 minute (more or less) checking the user name and password I receive the following http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/error-619-cannot-connect-dial-up-connection.1575055/ error message: 619: The especified port is not connected I've done a lot of things even http://help.unotelly.com/support/solutions/articles/39003-error-619-a-connection-to-the-remote-computer-could-not-be-established- change the modem, applying the hotfix of article Q824301 , Uninstall and install again TCP/IP protocol, read other microsoft article related, check from top to bottom the PPP and RAS log, etc but nothing solve the problem. I've found also a lot threads on the microsoft.public. newsgroups regarding this problem but none of them with the solution. I'm totally desperated and I don't want to reinstall dial up Win2000 again. I would like to know what is causing this and how to fix it. Does anyone know how to reinstall RAS in Win2000 Pro ?? Maybe reinstalling it again it would work. Anyway, do you have any clue or advice. I'll be very grateful. Thanks in advance for any reply. Fernando. Fernando Ruza, Oct 20, 2003 #1 Advertisements Scott F. Guest I found this on the web: Error 619: The port is disconnected. This often happens when another program is dial up error using the modem. Disable all fax software. If this does not work then shutdown and turn off the computer. This forces the port to close properly. If it still gives this error try reinstalling the modem. (Be careful with WinModems as they have often a lot of extra disks) If not, contact the manufacturer and get them to sort it out. 619 - "A connection to the remote computer could not be established." Modified on: Sun, 21 Feb, 2016 at 4:27 AM 1. If you have two or more VPN connections set up on your computer, ensure that only one is running and disconnect all other ones. 2. Check for any firewall and antivirus programs that may stop access to the VPN ports. Temporarily disable them to determine if they are the cause. TCP Port 1723 and GRE Protocol 47 must be opened/enabled for PPTP VPN connection Some routers require PPTP pass-through enabled in the router 3. Try standard troubleshooting steps: Reboot the computer Delete and re-configure the VPN set up Test the VPN on another computer/device on the same network. If it does not work, your network is stopping the VPN access. Test the VPN on another network using the same device. If it does not work, your device has security software stopping the VPN access.
