Error 633 Dial Up
I receive the following error message: 619: The especified port is not connected I've done error 619 dsl a lot of things even change the modem, applying the hotfix of article Q824301 , Uninstall and install again TCP/IP protocol, read other microsoft error 619 dial up windows 7 article related, check from top to bottom the PPP and RAS log, etc but nothing solve the problem. I've found also a lot threads on the microsoft.public. newsgroups regarding this problem but none of them with the solution. I'm https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/812443 totally desperated and I don't want to reinstall Win2000 again. I would like to know what is causing this and how to fix it. Does anyone know how to reinstall RAS in Win2000 Pro ?? Maybe reinstalling it again it would work. Anyway, do you have any clue or advice. I'll be very grateful. Thanks in advance for any reply. Fernando. Fernando Ruza, Oct 20, 2003 #1 Advertisements Scott F. Guest I found this on the web: Error http://www.pcreview.co.uk/threads/error-619-cannot-connect-dial-up-connection.1575055/ 619: The port is disconnected. This often happens when another program is using the modem. Disable all fax software. If this does not work then shutdown and turn off the computer. This forces the port to close properly. If it still gives this error try reinstalling the modem. (Be careful with WinModems as they have often a lot of extra disks) If not, contact the manufacturer and get them to sort it out. And with the widespread adoption of the local cellular carriers/providers and the accompanying marketing and competition, http://help.unotelly.com/support/solutions/articles/39003-error-619-a-connection-to-the-remote-computer-could-not-be-established- its reach is gaining ground not to mention prices dropping. The many advantages include pre-paid on-demand kits. For many who have wired broadband kits, the USB modem broadband can serve as backup broadband in cases of trouble dial up with the wired broadband. The mobility it offers is another big bonus; and, where wired broadband has no reach, the wireless broadband can as long as there is cellular network coverage. Imagine this: Upon buying the modem, you test it out, install the packaged software and try to connect.. Just PERFECT! You are able to browse. Then you go home.. plug the USB modem back in.. and ERROR! You go back to the store and error 619 dial they can't figure it out as well. It may not be that easy as you thought it was.. However, one may run into a similar scenario above when trying to connect (or dial-in) to the wireless network -- its "Error 619: A connection to the remote computer could not be established, so the port used for this connection was closed." (below is a screenshot of the error message). And while trying to resolve it, googling the error returned thousands of results and it seems this error is very common. I tried to be more specific with the searching by indicating the Huawei E220 modem I have but it seems there are many of us who are in the same boat. So it seems the problem is more serious than I thought. While most forums indicate that this is a problem with the APN setting of the mobile network, I encountered a simple solution while trying to resolve the problem -- I tried to move the modem on to other USB ports.. and Eureka! after plugging to the third port I was able to connect. It is not the APN as I was using the "Dynamic" setting (see below). So I tried replicating the problem.. When installing "Mobile Partner" (or the applicable software for your USB modem), note the USB port you plugged
619 - "A connection to the remote computer could not be established." Modified on: Sun, 21 Feb, 2016 at 4:27 AM 1. If you have two or more VPN connections set up on your computer, ensure that only one is running and disconnect all other ones. 2. Check for any firewall and antivirus programs that may stop access to the VPN ports. Temporarily disable them to determine if they are the cause. TCP Port 1723 and GRE Protocol 47 must be opened/enabled for PPTP VPN connection Some routers require PPTP pass-through enabled in the router 3. Try standard troubleshooting steps: Reboot the computer Delete and re-configure the VPN set up Test the VPN on another computer/device on the same network. If it does not work, your network is stopping the VPN access. Test the VPN on another network using the same device. If it does not work, your device has security software stopping the VPN access.
