Create a new email and add just one of the distribution lists in the TO field. Click the plus sign next to it and expand all of the names on the list. Look for one or more names that do not underline themselves. That one will be the culprit in the distribution list. Close that email window, open the distribution list and remove the culprit. Save the list. Now, try a new email with that list and see if it goes through. Repeat the process until you've got them all working. 0Votes Share Flag Collapse - Outlook 2007 distribution list issue by noels0ma13 · 8 years ago In reply to re: Outlook 2007 Distribu ... Outlook 2013 Cannot Expand Distribution Group
Outlook wouldn't expand the list when the + was clicked in the "To:" box. The problem the command selected is not valid for this recipient outlook 2013 turned out to be pretty simple... This user had been using Office 2003 before upgrading to 2007 and, instead of using contacts, had cannot perform the requested operation outlook 2007 distribution list gotten used to using the email address cache provided by the TO: box (the automatic list that shows up when you start typing). When we migrated to their new system, they lost that cache. I had copied that special file http://www.techrepublic.com/forums/discussions/outlook-2007-distribution-list-problemsssss/ from her old system and put it on her new system. This made caching work and she could now use all the "lost" email addresses. However, the contact lists she had been using were no longer pointing to the correct list in contacts. The solution was to delete the distribution lists from the cache (type the first letter of the list name, scroll down to the list name, then press the DELETE key to remove the cached name from http://www.mojocode.com/content/outlook-2007-distribution-lists-wont-work the list). This prevented the cache from trying to point to the old list ID and causing the "unexpected" error. Add new comment Tags Technote Thanks!! I ran into the same problem, but in attempting to remove the offender from the cache, it was impossible to highlight the name of the list without populating the to: field I it just jumped right in as soon as I released the mouse. I found if I hit the delete key while holding the button I could delete it--- Stange confusers!!! reply re: Outlook 2007 Distribution Lists Won't Work Submitted by steve on Thu, 2015/07/16 - 10:21am. You don't need to use your mouse at all, just type the first part of the address and then use the down arrow key to move down the list. reply Did this help you? You can help me! You can resolve this error by creating a new list. Don't try to select the DL automatically, because it will just pick up the old one. Go to your contacts list and and select the new distribution list from there. Good Luck.
