At this time, please let me know: 1. Whether the issue only occurs on specific group or all groups? If you manually create a new group whether the issue can be reproduced? 2. Whether it is a multi-domain or single domain environment? Mike She

I've created "some" distribution lists and begin struggling when using any of the lists. Every Time when I am sendling to one the list an error message "An unexpected error occurred" pops and the email will not go through. I'd appreciate any comment that could be helped to solve this http://www.techrepublic.com/forums/discussions/outlook-2007-distribution-list-problemsssss/ matter. Thanks Share Flag This conversation is currently closed to new comments. 11 total posts (Page 1 of 2) 01 | 02 Next + Follow this Discussion · | Thread display: Collapse - | Expand + All Answers Collapse - re: Outlook 2007 Distribution List problems by ThumbsUp2 · 9 years ago In reply to OUTLOOK 2007 DISTRIBUTION ... Create a new email and add just one of the distribution lists in the TO field. Click the plus sign next to it and expand all of the names on the list. Look for one or more names that do not underline themselves. That one will be the culprit in the distribution list. Close that email window, open the distribution list and remove the culprit. Save the list. Now, try a new email with that list and see if it goes through. Repeat the process until you've got them all working. 0Votes Share Flag Collapse - Outlook 2007 distribution list issue by noels0ma13 · 8 years ago In reply to re: Outlook 2007 Distribu ... I say that because the underlying issue also caused another issue that I will mention in this post so that others who https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/22029123/Error-when-expanding-distribution-lists-from-autocomplete-Outlook-2003-with-exchange.html are experiencing these can get this resolved. Let me tell you, this has been an epic headache for a few months now, so to be able to finally have them distribution list resolved is a huge relief! Like I said, the underlying issue caused another problem. The first problem we noticed is that when we tried to use Autodiscover to create user profiles in Outlook 2007 outside of the network it would fail. For our users to use RPC over HTTPS aka Outlook Anywhere, we had to create their Outlook profile while connected expand distribution list to the network. After that they could use Outlook Anywhere. The second problem we noticed is that users outside of the network couldn't expand distribution groups. They could access the Global Address List, but when they tried to expand distribution groups over Outlook Anywhere they would get the following error: Cannot perform the requested operation. The command selected is not valid for this recipient. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action. I finally found the answer on Aaron Mark's blog talking about an Outlook Anywhere bug with Exchange 2007 and Windows Server 2008. The problem lies in IPV6. On our network adapter we have IPV6 unchecked as we weren't using it, but it turns out that is not good enough. If you are experiencing something similar, you may also notice that when you hold control, click on the Outlook icon in the system tray and select Connection Status you will see a good connection to MAIL but your connection to DIRECTORY will either say CONNECTING or DISCONNECTED. Outlook 2003 with exchange Posted on 2006-10-18 Outlook 1 Verified Solution 4 Comments 4,410 Views Last Modified: 2012-05-05 Hello, I recently migrated my clients from a standard pst file to an exchange store. we are still using pop/smtp however the mail is stored in exchange and we now have the luxury of shared calendars, contacts, etc. The problem lies in the migration from the PST files to the exchange server. I used the standard import/export feature to import from the PST and after doing so, everything seems fine until someone tries to email a distribution list that was saved in their autocache or outlook (the autocomplete section when typing in recipients). Now, the contacts are available in the contacts folder and outlook is configured to check that contacts folder. If you click the to button and select them than there is no problem. It's simply the issue of the cached auto-complete entries that are cuasing problems. Does anyone know how to fix this or has anyone seen this problem? The error that i receive (I can generate this error by trying to expand the dist. list). Cannot perform the requested operation. The command selected is not valid for this recipient. the Operation failed. I've looked online and the only solutions i've seen are people recommending re-creating your dist lists (not going to happen) and also doing a restore (another non-feasible solution). Thanks, Also, the exchange server is ex 2003 sp2 standard clients are outlook 2003 pro, up to date 0 Question by:JoshuaRyan Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 11 Best Solution byStuartWhyte I see where your problems lie.
