You can resolve this error by creating a new list. Don't try to select the DL automatically, because it will just pick up the old one. Go to your contacts list and and select the new distribution list from there. Good Luck.

Join Now I have two users that can not send to certain distribution lists. Outlook just pops up a message saying "The Operation Failed" with no other information at all and nothing in the event viewer. I have read a bit about a possible problem with a chached address in the address bar but this is not the problem. One of them is a new distribution list I sat down with her and created. She has permission to send to 2500 users so that isnt the problem. DL's are limited on size pre Office SP2 but that is install so thats not the problem. Has anyone else experienced this? Client is Outlook 2007 and Server Exchange 2007 Reply Subscribe RELATED TOPICS: Removing a user from distribution lists Distribution lists not working anymore Nesting Distribution Lists   13 Replies Mace OP Jay6111 Jun 7, 2011 at 8:40 UTC What happens when you try to expand the DL from the address bar? Does it work or return errors? Does this user have any .pst files, and if so, are they particularly large? -Jay 0 Cayenne OP Techie_v2 Jun 7, 2011 at 8:46 UTC Expanding the DL works fine and you can view the names and address as normal. The user does have a pst file but if working directly for exchange 0 Mace OP Jay6111 Jun 7, 2011 at 8:54 UTC Is every address in the DL verifiable, and is it for sure pulling from the global address book and not personal......meaning, sometimes a user may put a global recipient into their personal address book for offline use which will cause a lot of funky issues when back on the corporate network. Check if any of the recipients are in her personal address book and if so try removing them, otherwise check to make sure each recipient is valid and the address is correct. -Jay 0 Cayenne OP Techie_v2 Jun 7, 2011 at 9:32 UTC Its a distribution list made out of 125 contacts that are in her contacts, not the glabal address list. are you saying I should try removing them? 0 Cayenne OP
