The symptom is my portable DVD player stopped playing commercial or personal DVDs. On the LCD was the text "Error H03". The fix involved taking apart the DVD player, and manually rotating the servo gear to "move" the laser mechanism housing past to where it was "stuck." This was my little voyage into hardware, and I hope it's helpful to somebody. The actual fix came from a post on another forum. position of the laser and it clicked and then the dvd spun as normal and works fine now ... It's all the way to the right to start with. When I do get it to "click" it goes to the middle of its track on the next try and stops. Still getting the H03 message. The error code appeared after 14 months (right after the warranty expired). I called customer service and they told me to reset it (pressing the pause button and the fast forward button at the same time for a few seconds... and maybe the play button too. I forgot exactly.). I did it and "initializing" appears but it didn't fix it. The lady then told me that I would have to get it serviced. Reply to this post Permalink | Report abuse
