Hi Thanks for using FixYa. Try unplugging the unit for few minutes, plug it back in and let it reboot. Please use clean DVDs. The lens for the laser needs to be clean and the laser needs to actually work. Open it up and see if you need to dust off the laser assembly; if it had been sitting. Now try cleaning the lens and spindle with a q-tip wet with alcohol. The issue you are facing with will get resolve. If still it does not read the DVD then it is likely that laser is defective. Please check to see if an audio CD plays back, if the audio CD works then it is a failed laser. Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.
