My Magnavox Dvd Player Says Disc Error
Dec 21, 2008 Messages: 3 Featured Posts: 0 Country: I am running WiiGator 0.3gamma, when I try to boot a game I get DVD Read Error (317). I have tried two different games. I have tried Memorex DVD-R, FujiFilm DVD+RW and Dynex DVD+R and still get the same error. Does anyone what specificly the error dvd player wont read any disc code means? Anyone know what could be done to fix it? Has anyone else ever got this error? If you are wondering I have IOS249 already installed. Thanks. gamemaster14, Dec 21, 2008 Top #1 (You must log in or sign up to reply here.) Show Ignored Content Share This Page Tweet Loading... handle this dvd. It plays fine and without problems using windvd and powerdvd. The dvd in question is disc 1 in the 3 disc set of Fawlty Towers (John Cleese). Now, what happens is this:

If http://forum.doom9.org/archive/index.php/t-13648.html I try to copy the vob file with explorer, I get a cyclic redundancy check error. I know this seems like a simple read error or scratched dvd, but there are no scratches and software dvd players have no troubles with this dvd. I can ignore the read error, but there are numerous read errors and each one takes about 5 seconds. Does anyone have any suggestion to what I could try? LIGHTNING UK!14th January 2002, 02:24Software players never have problems with disc...I dont know how they do it, they just do! All I can guess, it that they set the hardware retries to something like 0 and just skip the bad sectors. Try turning Fast Error Skip on in DVD Decrypter and set retries to 0 - hmmm...funny that ;) The odd sector here and there wont make a blind bit of difference....there are hundreds of thousands of them! Click 'Ignore' when u come across an error....after 5 errors, u can choose to automatically ignore ALL errors. If there are loads...i suggest you do this :) Galmok14th January 2002, 10:04Well, I am not talking about the odd sector here and there, but numerous consecutive sectors. Also, for each error, my dvd drive spins down and then up again and also repositions the head. It sounds like it is trying several ti
steps to follow so that you can firstly identify a problem you may be having with an optical disc followed by some steps you can take to http://diyvideoeditor.com/guide-to-dvd-cd-game-disc-repair/ correct that problem. The sequence here should apply to just about any situation you have with a DVD, CD or game disc regardless of whether the disc contains just data or if it has been created to https://forum.redfox.bz/threads/love-other-drugs.46784/ play back video. As a word of warning, some of the steps may involve treatment to the surface of the disc to correct reading errors and it is important to note that they may NOT be dvd player applicable to Blu-ray discs. Blu-ray discs are manufactured differently and only light polishing is suitable for them. Doing otherwise may result in permanent damage to the disc surface that may render the disc completely useless. The main difficulty in starting out is that you are most likely getting some kind of error message from the disc reader and you think that the problem is from some particular source because of that message. Common error dvd read error messages such as Disc Error, No Disc, Invalid DVD Navigation or even Invalid File Structure tend to make you think you have a problem disc… not a problem reader. The reality is that these and just about all other error messages you may get are essentially meaningless and are telling you nothing. They are simply pre-written error messages that may randomly appear from within the software when ANY kind of problem occurs. They are not the result of some hidden and highly technical diagnostic process having been carried out by the software! It’s just smoke and mirrors! You can place a faulty disc into a reader and have it report that there is No Disc… which is just silly because obviously there is a disc in there! So let's get started. Is It A Disc Error or a Player Error? If you have a disc that won’t play in a particular device the first thing to do is to take the disc out and inspect the surface of that disc in good light. Angle the disc so that you can see the surface clearly and not just reflections. Look for any obvious scratches or marks or even heavy fingerprints or dirty areas. The key area of the disc to check is right at the center where the data begins. Regard

Read the stickies. Also know that this title (in R1) has no special protections - I've done this one myself. -W Clams, Mar 2, 2011 #4 Frank SlySoft Support Team no info = no help, period tcj317 said: ↑ My back up gets to 51%.
