I think I have made a very foolish mistake, http://www.mac-forums.com/showthread.php?t=55406 as follows; I deleted (and emptied the trash) DVD player, and now I'd like to reinstall it (That's the last time I'll be so hasty) I have a dvd player 4.6 update file from apple which I ran on a whim, it said I couldn't update because I had a later version of DVD player. I've also searched spotlight for any trace of dvd player, with none found. I also tried to reinstall dvd player from the OS x install disk, but couldn't find it listed under bundled apps! At the moment I'm using vlc, which is ok, but it's just a matter of preference in wanting dvd player (even quicktime would be ok). Am I doomed to live without DVD Player? Or is there an avenue I haven't explored? p.s bring on time machine! p.p.s is there any way of playing a dvd through quicktime without having to open the ifo files? i.e. simply? Cheers! me and has decided to refrain me from watching one of my favourite, or possibly my favourite show MAD MEN Season Two (If http://raws.adc.rmit.edu.au/~s3239835/blog2/?tag=error-70001 you want to know my feelings about this show click here). You see this is what I like to do I like to sit in bed and watch MAD MEN on my laptop but NO http://dvd.player.mac.error.70001.metawin.org/ obviously my DVD player has decided that he does not want to let me do this! Basically, what the problem is, is with the DVD player you are allowed to change the region 5 times dvd player and then the last change stays at whatever region you choose. This I think is ridiculous because this is what the lastest Mac Book Pro it should play all regions, this makes me ANGRY! Anyway, I have not changed the region 5 times I have changed it 4 times, and I was thinking when I get to the fifth time I will change it to region 4 and all error 70001 dvd will be GRAND and HAPPY and LOVELY and WONDERFUL, but no DVD player says ERROR 70001. So being the fantastic Networked Media student that I am I decided to do some online troubleshooting, because this is what we are encouraged to do and found that lots and lots of people have experienced this problem, which did make me feel slightly better to know other people were suffereing just as I was. However, I have decided that people that answer these questions on online forums are complete morons, well that may be slightly harsh but there is typically two common answers. The first one is one that is completely unreadable by people that aren't computer whizzes and therefore is useless telling to anyone, an example of one of these answers is the following: There is no RPC1 Firmware available for your drive, just autoreset, but this needs for the drive to have changes left for it too work Ok so firstly what does RPC1 Firmware mean? and secondly this is the most pointless explanation ever that nobody could ever understand because to me this means nothing, therefore mac dvd player continues to win. Secondly there are other answers, which are even more unhelpful, such as: Hey, have y
