The symptom is my portable DVD player stopped playing commercial or personal DVDs. On the LCD was the text "Error H03". The fix involved taking apart the DVD player, and manually rotating the servo gear to "move" the laser mechanism housing past to where it was "stuck." This was my little voyage into hardware, and I hope it's helpful to somebody. The actual fix came from a http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/299627-Fixing-My-Portable-DVD-s-H03-Error post on another forum.
