I've had extensive experience with a lot of their equipment and similar equipment from more reputable companies like Sony, Hitachi, etc. and have found the MatsuSHITa brands have problems at 100X+ the rate of other brands. Category:Consumer Electronics Share this conversation Expert: TX_Engineer replied4 years ago. H03" on a Panasonic DVD-LS90 indicates "Traverse error". Generally fixing these errors are beyond the scope of most consumers and DVDs these days are non-repair devices, meaning it costs more to repair them than it does to replace them. If you want to consider repairing it yourself, you should know that the typical causes are:Impacted parts might be:servo / driver IC (least likely);loose/faulty flex cable or stuck traverse motor (likely);stuck / faulty carriage to guide rails. The traverser is responsible for sliding the laser lens and its mounting bed/carriage from the near disc center to near outermost. A possible workaround is to clean and lubricate the guide rail and the long worm gear. Use a narrow tube applicator (WD-40) and compressed air.More details:You have to open up the unit. All you have to do is open the back of the LS90 having small screws.when you remove the back cover be careful not to damage the cablesyou will find the servo motor and laser lamb on one metal structure hanged to the body by three rubber mounts remove the whole structure and turn it upside down slowly. You can use a can of compressed air and re-lubricate the worn gear/drive with WD-40. When you have the whole structure upside down, move the small black rotating joints up or down you will notice the the mechanical shaft will start rotating and the laser lamb will start to move away from the servo motor releasing it, if stuck.
