3 while getting some work done. By mistake I ended up hitting the "title" button and was greeted with the following error message. "DVD mplayerx Player encountered a system error, -69889″ After doing some google'ing and some vlc mac Apple - Support - Discussions searches this thread was all I could find regarding that error.Personally I don't think vlc player download it's an issue with my DVD drive. VLC was able to play my DVD fine. Moreover I tried rebooting and deleting the file com.apple.DVDPlayer.plist in ~/Library/Preferences. My disk was also clean.Anybody https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5420964?tstart=0 else have any ideas? I'll post a screen shot when I get a chance of the error and if I find a solution I'll post it also. UPDATE: Today I came home and installed some software and ended up doing another reboot thus clearing up this issue. Hopefully this issue was just a one shot deal but I would consider this a resolved issue. This has only started happening dvd player today, I want to watch a DVD on my iMac, and DVD Player wont play it. I've tried different DVDs and I've also tried playing the movies from Video_TS folders on my HDD, still, it wont play. DVD Player will play a few seconds, then the video and audio will stop and freeze. If I try to click stop, or anything else i get a "Not dvd player encountered Permitted" bubble appear, and if I click Pause I get a message "DVD Player has encountered a system error. Error -69889" I've tried totally removing DVD Player, its plist's, and folders and restoring a old versions from Time Machine. Still, nothing works. This also happens in Front Row.
