Dvd Won't Play On Dvd Player
June 11, 2006 WHY THIS DVD WON'T PLAY IN MY MACHINE ? They're supposed to play EVERYTHING! The salesman and the new dvd won't play on dvd player catalogue promised you that THIS machine can handle DVD's, CD's, MP3's, JPG's VCD, CD-R's, etc etc etc. But that DVD movie you bought on the internet from overseas absolutely refuses to play. With or without an

accompanying error message on the TV screen , you wonder whether you have just wasted good money. But who to blame ? Maybe the disc itself was faulty ? Perhaps the salesman lied about what the machine could do ? None of the above ! The disc is not faulty and the salesman didn't lie, though I guarantee he didn't give you the full story. There are 2 compatibility issues to how to make dvd player region free consider with DVD discs that you obtain from overseas. Both conditions need to be satisfied for the disc to play ! REGIONS The first is REGIONS (or zones). Your DVD manual will tell you what region your machine is. Many machines also have a region logo at the back. If your DVD player is multi-zone, congratulations, it will play all discs from all countries. Multi-zone is also known as "region zero". However, if your machine is region locked,it can ONLY play discs with that particular region code. If the regions don't match, the disc won't play. The most common locked regions are region 1 (USA), region 2 (UK- Europe) and region 4 (Australia). I should emphasise here that this issue only applies to foreign discs. The retailers in your country will only sell DVD's in your local region designation. There is an important exception to this rule - some DVD discs are released as "region zero" or "region-free"or "all-regions". These DVD's will play fine in any region-locked machine. BYPASSING THE REGION LOCKING About half of all locked DVD players can be permanently unlocked via the remote control. It depends on the brand and model. But don't go searching for the magic button because it's not there - the models that
player redlinethecarOctober 12th, 2009, 08:27 PMHello all just a little about my computer. I have a HP DVD740 dvd -+ r/rw DL drive. I am using a software called DeVeDe to create an

ISO file. After right clicking the ISO and selecting burn to disk the DVD
Brand New Dvd Won't Play
burns fine. I can then place the DVD into the drive in my computer and it recognizes it as a DVD movie dvd region code and plays it just fine. When placing the DVD inside of a standard player (one that has worked fine with burned dvd's only difference is the platform the DVD was created on with is Windows) http://www.ebay.com/gds/WHY-THIS-DVD-WONT-PLAY-IN-MY-MACHINE-/10000000001178557/g.html the player says disc is not readable. Im guessing there is something that is supposed to go in like a boot sector on the disk or something but im not sure. Can someone please assist me in this error or point me in the right direction. I don't want to partition my drive and install windows just to burn video DVD's. Thank you for your help. rippinOctober 12th, 2009, 08:36 PMHello all https://ubuntuforums.org/archive/index.php/t-1289574.html just a little about my computer. I don't want to partition my drive and install windows just to burn video DVD's. Thank you for your help. File format and content is everything. If it's cooked to an AVI, or like, the computer can deal with it. In fact, with proper codecs, the computer can play any DVD. However, a TV-DVD player needs region to be correct and generally will play only DVD which contain AUDIO_TS & VI

The rear speakers also did not work when playing the radio via dash controls. Tonight while cleaning, I pulled the dvd player off the ceiling thinking maybe a dvd was stuck in the player. Found the cable was unplugged! Plugged the cable in and put back dvd player on ceiling. Turned on van to see what happened and quickly saw lights on the dvd player! Unfortunately, I ran the battery down by having doors open and interior lights on. We jumped the van but had trouble. First, it honked when turning the key to start, then van started flashing lights. Finally, we got the van started and let it run for 5-10 minutes. T

However your DVD must be multiregion enabled to play commercial DVDs (downloaded Torrented DVDs will not be region coded and should play OK) Most cheap DVD players are sold as multirecion but some need to be hacked.....normally using a code entered from the remote......Google "multiregion DVD hacks" Edited 3 time(s). If it isn't, then what you will usually find is that if the VHS or DVD source is say a movie in colour, you might end up with merely a "black and white" version on the TV, or perhaps the video element will play OK, but not the sound. So make sure BOTH player AND the TV are multi system. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 2007-11-28 21:00 by paulywaul.
