Louie is online now I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY PANASONIC DVD PLAYER WHICH IS Customer Question I AM HAVING A PROBLEM WITH MY PANASONIC DVD http://www.gminsidenews.com/forums/f53/dvd-player-question-27585/ PLAYER WHICH IS IN MY 2004 CHEVY TAHOE. ON A RECENT TRIP THE GRANDCHILDREN WATCHED A MOVIE DURING WHICH THE PLAYER PERFORMED WITHOUT PROBLEMS. WHEN THE MOVIE ENDED; WE LEFT THE TRUCK FOR A TIME AND WHEN WE RETURNED; MY DAUGHTER THOUGHT THE PREVIOUS DVD HAD BEEN EJECTED. SHE INSERTED ANOTHER DVD . BOTH DISCS WERE THEN EJECTED AT THE SAME TIME; ONE ON TOP OF THE OTHER. http://www.justanswer.com/tv-repair/3qhet-having-problem-panasonic-dvd-player.html INSTEAD OF REMOVING ONE DVD AT A TIME; BOTH WERE PULLED FROM THE PLAYER AT THE SAME TIME. SINCE THAT THE PLAYER WILL NOT WORK. IT TURNS ON. IT ACCEPTS DVD'S AND AUTOMATICALLY PULLS THEM INTO THE PLAYER. THE SCREEN THEM SHOWS 5 ----- WHITE DASHES FOR A TIME THEN SAYS THERE IS A DISC FORMAT ERROR. I CHECKED THE DISC FORMAT AND IT WAS PRESET. I THEN CHANGED IT TO NTSC WHICH THE MANUAL SAID WAS THE CORRECT ONE FOR THIS COUNTRY. THE SAME THINGS HAPPEN WITH EACH DIFFERENT DISC INSERTED. I CANNOT CLEAN THE LENS WITH A CLEANING DISC BECAUSE THE DISC FORMAT ERROR MESSAGE ALSO DISPLAYS AND IT IS THEN AUTOMATICALLY EJECTED. CAN YOU HELP? Submitted: 6 years ago. Recorders DVD Players How to Get a DVD Player to Stop Showing a Disk Format Error How to Get a DVD Player to Stop http://www.ehow.com/how_5982345_dvd-showing-disk-format-error.html Showing a Disk Format Error By Greyson Ferguson eHow Contributor Greyson Ferguson Follow î‚• Pin Share Tweet Share Email Save dvd image by vashistha pathak from Fotolia.com Occasionally, http://en.allexperts.com/q/Car-Stereos-3638/2010/3/Panasonic-DVD-entertainment-package.htm you may see a disk format error on your television when attempting to watch a movie on DVD. The reason for this error message varies. Sometimes the disk isn't clean dvd player or is damaged on the bottom. Other times, if the DVD is a home-created disk, the DVD player may not support the particular format. Depending on the issue, you can stop the player from showing the disk format error message. Things You'll Need DVD player Television Damp cloth User manual Remove the DVD from the DVD player. Look at the yukon dvd player bottom of the DVD to see if any dirt, fingerprints or other debris is present. Dip a clean cloth into water and rub it across the DVD, moving from the inside of the DVD to the outside. Circling around the DVD can actually cause the dirt to move deeper into the disk. Dry the DVD off with a dry cloth. Insert the DVD back into the DVD player; it should now play. If the DVD has scratches or deep tears, it won't play and it can't be fixed. Look at the format on the top of the DVD if you (or someone you know) created the disk. Some DVD formats include DVD+R, DVD-R, and DVD-RW. Check your DVD player's user manual. The user manual states what DVD formats it runs. It may not support your particular format. If this is the case you need to burn the content onto a format it accepts. package which included a panasonic dvd rear flip down player. I have recently received an error message "Disc Format Error". This began occurring during a recent road trip. Before that the DVD player was playing fine. We have used DVD's that have played in the unit in the past so I don't believe its the DVD's themselves. The owners manual does not have a remedy for this error other than check the DVD itself. If you can think of any other reason this would show as an error please let me know. Thanks for your service, Steve AnswerSteve, you should try using a lens cleaning dvd, and see if it cleans the player up enough to use it. Otherwise, you are going to have to have the player professionally cleaned. That error means it can not read the dvd. If the dvd is good, then the lens must be dusty/dirty and causing the player to be unable to read dvds.
