It's 8 seasons with 5 dvdfab error while reading please choose what to do discs per season leaving me about 40 discs to rip. The first season went fine, no problems at all. The second season I dvdfab error 500 had issues with discs 2 and 3 stopping in the middle due to a read error. The third season did exactly the same thing on disc 4. After that, the rest of the entire box set ripped dvdfab error 102 completely without any issues and no errors. I thought there might be an issue with my DVD drive but I only had that problem on just a few discs. I also tried using a portable copy of DVD Decryptor on those bad discs and it seems that, after many retries, it was able to rip it successfully. My question is, is it normal for some DVDS to not rip properly because the way they are made?

Otherwise it would seem the issue is either with my drive or software and I can't see what those issues would be. Thanks! The only thing I notice is that DVD Decrypter will retry the same sector over 100+ times till it gets it. Slow but surely. Also, I have not used DVD Decrypter in a while. Was is the best setup? I know there are some additional plug ins that help with the decryption of some of the later protections. I have run http://forums.afterdawn.com/threads/some-discs-giving-read-errors.744427/ DVDfab several times, but last night it wouldnt read the disk I am trying to copy. I thought it was because my trial period has expired however I used it a few weeks ago after it had expired and it worked ok. I read a few forums somewhere and someone suggested to change the IO input "general settings" from auto to ASPI. I tried this but the program crashed and couldnt http://www.sevenforums.com/music-pictures-video/266670-dvdfab-read-error.html reopen resulting in a reinstall. I tried using the program to copy again since the reinstall and restart but it keeps coming up with a read error. The options on the error screen include retry, abort, ignore, ignore all. I have tried ignoring, to which it repeatedly comes up, I tried repeating all and it sat there trying to read it for some time before I gave up and went to bed. I have tried other programs like Handbrake which appears to read the disk fine, but the program is confusing for me and thats about as far as I go with it. It would be so much easier to have it working through DVDFab as it is generally a much better and user friendly program (when it is working ) I have purchased a license for DVD copy and DVD RIP, but still- the problem remains. Thanks in advance for any help!! Danni. P.S the disk is brand new and the laptop is about 6 months old- running win7 home premium, toshiba AMD with Bluray burner. I've run into a problem http://www.cdrlabs.com/forums/dvdfab-read-errors-t22730.html while using DVDFab Platinum to make a backup copy of a DVD boxset of "The Life of Birds", produced by the BBC. As soon as the app starts the analyzing section of the copy, dvdfab error I get a popup box titled "Reading/Writing Error Control". The text of the box reads "Error while Reading! Please choose what to do?" The box presents four buttons: "Retry", "Abort", "Ignore", "Ignore All" If I select retry, ignore or ignore all, it will fail again. Selecting 'abort' just kills the app. Can anyone provide any help with this? The boxset is a few years old but in excellent dvdfab 6 read condition, no apparent scratches, etc. No problems watching the program. I was offered the options of 'Retry', 'Abort', 'Ignore' or 'Ignore All'. (the disc was clean) I was able to decrypt the movie but would have to select 'Retry' 5 to 10 times throughout the process and the read speed would be very slow. The read errors occurred for every movie that I decrypted. For testing purposes I put in "Monsters Inc" and it tried it with 3.0.5.0. - read errors occurred. I reverted to version 3.0.2.5 and "Monsteres Inc" decrypted with no problem and no read errors. DVD Drive - Liteon SOHW1693S Firmware KSOB The drive works fine for all other functions including burning the movies that were eventually decrypted. I am going to stick with 3.0.2.5 for the time being, but wondered if anyone else had similar problems? I should have been more clear, Yes it is DVDFab Decrypter. I used DVD Decrypter for the longest time, but ran into a couple of movies with the latest version of Sony copy protection. I screwed around with a couple of different programs that handled the settings for DVD Decrypter and then ended up using DVDFab Decrypter. I am not really up on the best way of backing up DVD's. I had been using DVD Decrypter and an older version of
