but also the port. When the SSLIP runs, it reserves ("binds") to specific ports so that SMS and Control can communicate with it. This error indicates that the ports being used are already in use. Causes In general, this error is caused by: Another program using the same port that Cyrious uses. Many programs randomly choose ports, so if the offending program is closed bind error 10048 in ip messenger and reopened, the problem may not appear next time.Anti-virus software preventing Cyrious for connecting to the Internet. Resolution In most cases, the solution is to: Reboot the computer.Run the SSLIP immediately on startup (before other programs). Occassionally, you may need to change the ports used. You can do this by creating a port offset in the SSLIP and SMS or Control folders. Navigate to the Cyrious\SSLIP folderIf there is not a text file named "SSLIP_Options.txt, create one, if there is skip to the next stepEdit the text file and add a line "PortOffSet=xxx" (xxx is a 3 digit number of your choosing)Highlight and copy the "PortOffSet=xxx"Save and close the file.Navigate to the Cyrious\SMS or Cyrious\Control folder (depending on which one you have). If there is not a text file named "SMS_Options.txt" or "Control_Options.txt", create one, if there is skip to the next stepEdit the text file and paste in the line "PortOffSet=xxx" (xxx is the same number from above)Save and close the file.See Also Backlinks Page Date Edited Error 10048 in function Bind Address already in use Jun 1, 2010 SMS Unable to Open May 17, 2012 Javascript Require

That port is probably already in use. Thursday, September 06, 2007 6:27 AM 0 Sign in to vote The problem is that binding and unbinding to endpoints is a costly operation for the Operating System.. And it takes a while before it is performed... If you want to speed up this process you'll have to find a way to pass in the option SO_REUSEADDR (i can't remember the .net equivalent right now) to notify the OS that the resource has to be cleaned up faster (and thus make it available faster)...serverSocket.SetSocketOption(SocketOptionLevel.IP, SocketOptionName.ReuseAddress, true);(Another interesting setting could be HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\TcpTimedWaitDelay) Thu

Validation is more than twice as fast and the link checks error 10048 is a bit faster. Using the batch wizard, I am getting a few of the following Error: Address already in use (Error #10048) while doing link checks (using -b7). Most occurs while checking for the jpg, pdf, ppt links. I repeated a few times the same batch file and I am getting a different # of these errors in the reports. Which means the reporting bind error 10048 of these errors are not consistent. Would you have any idea what could cause it? Daniel. I don't know what would cause that. It could be an issue with the updated component I'm using for link checking. I've posted a message to the relevent support group to see if anyone has any ideas. If you can find a way to reproduce it consistently, then please let me know. I'd like to reproduce it here if possible. Also, if anyone else has seen this issue, then please let me know.
