If other software works, but PingPlotter/MultiPing does not, then it's probably local to your machine - something that is filtering by which application is sending data. There might be something wrong with the SMTP server. Try using another email client and make sure the same SMTP server works with that. Questions about Sage CRM Email error - socket error # 10054 This question is not answered Posted by asasaki on 30 Jun 2014 10:31 PM We've been seeing this message in our email manager logs recently: Exception connecting to Mail Server: Socket Error # 10054Connection reset by peer. tdi filter driver It started a couple of weeks ago, with no obvious cause. Nothing in the event logs, socket error 10054 mdaemon no bad inbound emails, no tasks or automations whose times correspond to the errors. It's been happening almost daily since it started -- sometimes several times per day -- and not at regular intervals.We haven't made any configuration changes to the CRM system or servers. When it happens, CRM Email Manager is out of action until the service is restarted. You can see the full explanation for this error on the Microsoft site: msdn.microsoft.com/.../ms740668(v=vs.85).aspx From my experience with Socket Error # 10054 they are generally caused by a firewall or antivirus terminating the connection between the CRM server and the SMTP server. I have also seen it being caused by incorrectly configured proxy server settings. As far as I know the email manager logs are only written to file and not to any database table. I'd seen that MS KB entry, and it was frustratingly nonspecific as to the cause. We initially thought it was antivirus - which had been installed on the server without our knowledge - but we've been getting the errors even with the antivirus turned off.
