The returned response is then recorded in database. I use the requests modular by import requests and write codes to catch Exception. The codes for the main function are as following: def get_response(self): try: response = requests.get(self.request_url) if response.status_code == 200: return response.json() except Exception as e: msg = 10054 an existing "Exception is:\n %s \n" % e print msg The above function works quite well for the first several hours. The function can also recover from some exceptions like: ('Connection aborted.', BadStatusLine("''",)) or ('Connection aborted.', error(10053, '')) It omits the exception (by recording a Null in database) and continues to get the response of next period. However, the function stops working when encoutering a 10054 error. Exception is: ('Connection aborted.', error(10054, '')) I check the database to find that all the response is Null after the time that the 10054 error comes. I firstly guess that the website may breakdown, thus no response is received. But when I manually restart the function, it starts to get response again. So that's no realated with breakdown of the website. I search in stackoverflow and find: Errno 10054 An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. But I don't know how to resolve it. Could you please provide some solotion to this problem?(ideally speaking) or provide some solution to restart the function without manually restarting? (It looks like once I restart the funtion and it works again.) Thanks in advance. python connection response share|improve this question asked Dec 6 '14 at 16:20 Deep_fox 859 add a comment| 1 Answ
Ref No:081204-2102Last Modified:Monday, December 08, 2008Product:Advantage Database Server ( General )Category:PerformanceTitle:10054 Error: An Existing Connection Was Forcibly Closed by the Remote HostProblem Description:1.) The 10054 error is an OS (Operating System) level error with the following description: "An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host." 2.) The 10054 error is being logged hundreds of times and being associated with slow performance.Solution:1.) The 10054 error is a Winsock error and may be related to a network device. You can check to see if any new routers have been introduced or other network changes have been made. A 10054 error can get logged if a client application is closed unexpectedly (doesn't shutdown nicely) and is currently sending or waiting for a reply from the server. In this case the server should log a 7020 error. Also it is possible that a 10054 error can be caused by any process sending Advantage an ICMP error packet with the "port not available" error code. In the case of a network related issue it may be helpful to perform a network sniff to further diagnose the problem. 2.) If 10054 errors being logged are associated with slowdown it is likely that the 10054 errors are a symptom rather than the cause. The following are some things to look at that may be causing the slow performance: a.) Is the server running out of Worker Threads or is the Max Used equal to the Configured amount? b.) Using sp_EnableQueryLogging or by looking at Active Queries in Remote Server Info are their queries that are taking an unusually long amount of time to run? If this is the case an index may be missing, or a Table may have a lot of deleted records at the beginning.
