Socket Error 10054 Connection Reset By Peer Delphi
python: [Errno 10054] An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host up vote 19 down vote favorite 5 I am writing python to crawl Twitter space using Twitter-py. I have set the crawler to sleep for a while (2 seconds) between each request to api.twitter.com. However, after some times of running (around 1), when the Twitter's rate limit not exceeded yet, winsock error 10054 connection was reset by the other side I got this error. [Errno 10054] An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host. What are possible causes of this problem and how to solve this? I have searched through and found that the Twitter server itself may force to close the connection due to many requests. Thank you very much in advance. python twitter web-crawler share|improve this question edited Apr 14 '14 at 21:11 Kara 3,12973147 asked Jan 11 '12 at 5:54 Nama Keru 113128 add a comment| 2 Answers 2 active oldest votes up vote 7 down vote This can be caused by the two sides of the connection disagreeing over whether the connection timed out or not during a keepalive. (Your code tries to reused the connection just as the server is closing it because it has been idle for too long.) You should basically just retry the operation over a new connection. (I'm surprised your library doesn't do this automatically.) share|improve this answer answered Jan 11 '12 at 5:58 David Schwartz 108k899163 1 I have the same problem. Repeated "Error writing media: 10054 - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote CellarDoor5 Posts: 11Members ✭✭ March 2015 in Samsung Smart Hub (2010-2015 models) Hi All, I think my problem may not be unique, and I've scoured the web and Plex forums and tried every suggestion I can find out there, but none seem to work. The basic problem is error 10054 that when accessing my Plex media from a Samsung device (both a TV and a Blu-Ray player), some of the media never plays (spinning wheel). On looking at the logs, there is the repeated statement of: Error writing media: 10054 - An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host I have tried all the suggestions about disabling antivirus software and firewalls, tried an existing connection turning off local authentication, turned PlexConnect on and off, have tried different media file types (H.264, MPEG-2) and container types (.ts, .mp4. .mkv, .mpg). I have changed ports on the router, enabled and disabled UPnP on the router, and much more. Still the same issue. If anyone has any thoughts on what this might be, I sure would appreciate them. Note that I tried using another Windows computer to connect to the server using PHT, and it did not have the issue, so I suspect it is something to do with the Samsung/PMS interaction. Here is a snippet from a log file. They all look like this: Mar 20, 2015 11:58:48:089 [4792] DEBUG - Content-Length of K:\TV Shows\Glee\Glee - S06E04 - The Hurt Locker (1).mp4 is 1016059674.
