I initially installed WAMP and everything worked fine. I restarted my computer and MySQL server hasn't worked since. I have been trying to install just MySQL mysql error 1067 invalid default value datetime and the "SQL Instance Config" freezes and when trying to start the service I receive the "Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly". I have searched for hours online trying all of the various solutions. These are the main ones that I recall seeing the most. Changing the install paths to ones without spaces Deleting all mySQL files and reinstalling Starting the services through the command Prompt Here is a copy of the errors file. I believe somewhere with this InnoDB lies the problem, but I can't seem to be able to solve it. 121203 22:20:59 [Note] Plugin 'FEDERATED' is disabled. 121203 22:20:59 InnoDB: The InnoDB memory heap is disabled 121203 22:20:59 InnoDB: Mutexes and rw_locks use Windows interlocked functions 121203 22:20:59 InnoDB: Compressed tables use zlib 1.2.3 121203 22:20:59 InnoDB: Error: unable to create temporary file; errno: 2 121203 22:20:59 [ERROR] Plugin 'InnoDB' init function returned error. 121203 22:20:59 [ERROR] Plugin 'InnoDB' registration as a STORAGE ENGINE failed. 121203 22:20:59 [ERROR] Unknown/unsupported storage engine: INNODB 121203 22:20:59 [ERROR] Aborting 121203 22:20:59 [Note] C:\mysql\bin\my

My PC is Windows 7 x64, Enterprise edition. MySQL installs fine, but when I run the "MySQL Instance Configuration Wizard", it pauses forever on the step "Start Service" (I can let mysql error 1067 it run for 30 minutes with no response). If I go into services, I see that the "MySQL" service hasn't started, and if I try to start it, it says "Windows could not start MySQL Service on Local Computer. Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectedly." I've tried the following: Turning off firewall. Uninstalling all antivirus software. Installing / reinstalling 32-bit version of MySQL. Installing / reinstalling 64-bit version of MySQL. Uninstalling, deleting the contents of "C:\program files\MySQL" and "C:\program files (x86)\MySQL", reinstalling. Checking to see that there is no rogue services named MySQL???? (from a previous install). Checking that port 3306 is not used by an alternate program. Changing the default port that MySQL uses. Checking for "my.ini" and "my.ini.cnf" in "C:\windows" (nothing there but that can cause a problem). Running both MySQL installer, and configuration wizard, in "Adminstrator mode". Turning off UAC. Installing with defaults, not changing anything. Rebooting my machine (about 6 reboots so far). Opening up port 3306 in the firewall (both TCP and UDP, inbound and outbound). Swearing at the klutz of a programmer who designed MySQL so you can't even install it (as if that would help!) My machine is working 100% in every other way. InfiniDB (a MySQL compatible database) install

To sum up the problem: whith the .msi installer I get MySQL registered as a service, but unable to start (error 1067); with a manual install I get the service running but the console gives back a 10061 error when checking for server functionality. My question here is if anyone has familiarity with this kind of problem in Windows 8.1 and can hint to a solution or at least figure out which may be the problem. This is a much more detailed explanations of the same facts: I encountered a problem with the configuration of the MysQL server, the server has installed and it is running in the Windows services, but the installation prompt stops at the "Starting Server" step of configuration. The log reads: "Stop servce. OK. Set service. OK. Set firewall. OK. Start service ..." then it just stops there giving messages that signals that too much time is passing. If I try to manually start the service from services.msc I get a 1067 error (process terminated unexpectedly). If I interrupt the configuration and try to proceed with the wizard I get a page wich list the MySQL server as installed but stopped and I can't establish a connection with the password I set up. I may try to change the default port, but the configuration log says that nothing is wrong with the firewall. I tryed to do all of this from the Administrator account and the behavior is the same. Then I tried to install the server manually from the Administrator account and eventually got a running service, but this is what I get: ..\bin>mysql --install MySQL56 --local-service (and subsequently: ..\bin>mysql --install MySQL56) Service successfully installed. (The service is listed in services.msc as an automatically managed service). ..\bin>mysqlshow msqlshow: Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localh
