saying "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage." I called my dsl server and they confirmed the modem is OK (it works well with my wireless laptop). On the Network Diagnostics page for XP it shows everything OK except under error 12029 occurred while connecting to server Connectivity it says "FTP (Passive): Error 12029 connecting to ftp microsoft.com. A connection with the server could not be established." What does all this mean and what can I do? Suddenly one of my laptops will not access the internet. I have a network connection and it's strong but no internet. The desktop and other laptop can access the internet just fine. The last thing I installed on the problem laptop was the Blackberry error 12029 connecting application. But the internet access worked after installation last week. A similar problem was asked about here but the error message is different. Things I tried: IP - localhost, 127.0.0.1, the actual IP Allow localhost loopback flag - both on and off When trying to communicate with a different machine the problem does not occur. Is this a defect in Edge or am I doing something wrong? javascript websocket microsoft-edge share|improve this question edited Aug 2 '15 at 16:54 asked Aug 2 '15 at 13:53 Motti 52.2k27131205 Report bug to Microsoft maybe? –Jan Aug 2 '15 at 16:25 @Jan I sent feedback but in parallel I want to make sure I'm not missing something obvious (I don't have much experience with WebSockets) –Motti Aug 2 '15 at 16:53 1 Maybe, b
