Are you able to view the URL that is listed in the error in your browser? 0 Message Author Comment by:servent12009-03-03 Yes. I had to jump to my other computer where I also have goto meeting installed and it works fine. I even turned off my firewall but to no avail. 0 LVL 15 Overall: Level 15 Web Services 2 AJAX 2 Web Servers 1 Message Expert Comment by:aibusinesssolutions2009-03-03 After searching for that error, it looks like the most common cause is Norton 360 or Norton System Works blocking the URL. Do you have either of those installed? 0 Message Author Comment by:servent12009-03-03 Neither. 9 Years Ago This morning my HP Pavilion 7915 worked fine. Then I got some kind of update from Adobe and tried to run it. It said it was already there, and asked if I wanted to overwrite or put it elsewhre. I could do neither. Also, https://www.daniweb.com/hardware-and-software/microsoft-windows/threads/64271/error-12029-a-connection-to-server-could-not-be-established I believe I may have had an Internet Explorer Update. The icon now looks different when the application shows on the taskbar. Then I tried logging onto internet, and Internet Explorer won't allow me to, saying "Internet Explorer cannot display the https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/193625 webpage." I called my dsl server and they confirmed the modem is OK (it works well with my wireless laptop). On the Network Diagnostics page for XP it shows everything OK except under Connectivity it says "FTP (Passive): Error 12029 connecting error 12029 to ftp microsoft.com. A connection with the server could not be established." What does all this mean and what can I do?
