(12029) Resolution: I checked PatchDownloader.log located in called process failed with error 12029 %UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Temp\3 folder and found the error saying the content cannot be downloaded from Microsoft Update site. There is a proxy in the environment. called process failed with error 12029 (null) I set proxy settings in IE and content was downloaded successfully. connection to Microsoft Update sites from your SCCM SUP. This settings affects SUP/Microsoft synchronization process only! To download Software Update Content you have to have proxy configured in IE on the machine you use to run the SCCM console. At least that solve the issue for me. to “SCCM 2012: Software Update Download failed with ERROR: There was an error downloading the software update.(12029)” Jason Oliphant October 24, 2013 at 12:15 pm I had this exact problem and this didn't fix the problem. I got lucky and decided to search the registry for my proxy because I cleared it out of everywhere I could think of. Sure enough I found it in a SMS reg key. Then I cleared it and and now my ADR's are working correctly. I had to put my servers on a different vlan so they have a direct connection now, no proxy but oh well at least they work. Reply SCCM BOFH June 30, 2015 at 10:06 am I had this exact problem and sure enough, setting the proxy in IE on the workstation used to run the SCCM console worked - thanks. Reply Anna September 25, 2015 at 5:09 am I had the same problem and the proxy settings in IE on the site server made a difference. Thanks. Reply Okan May 24, 2016 at 12:12 pm Thanks. The issue is easy to describe: software http://www.systemcentercentral.com/forums-archive/topic/software-updates-download-configuration-with-a-remote-sup-and-a-site-server-with-no-internet-access/ updates won't download. The synchronization is ok, I get all the metadata - but there is no possibility to download the update files. Configuration: Site server: MP, DP, Console, DB on a remote server, no Internet connection WSUS server: WSUS (uses its own db, located on the same server), SUP role installed, connected to the Internet As I've sad, synchronization goes fine. What I've found till now, is that: "Remember, WSUS is used only for the synchronization of software updates metadata (!) and for clients to retrieve the software updates metadata that will be scanned for compliance" So, it is not WSUS and not a SUP role, that downloads the update file. The question is, what role or subsystem is downloading it? Which server in that configuration should have Internet access? May be I should install some specific role on the WSUS server to get it work? What I see in logs is that the site server is trying to connect to microsoft update site, and, of course, fails (PatchDownloader.log): Trying to connect to the root\SMS namespace on the SCCM01 machine. Software Updates Patch Downloader 01.

Page 1 of 1 Error: 12029 Failed To Download The Server List #1 Trypsin Magnificent Member Group: Members Posts: 338 Joined: http://forum.emule-project.net/index.php?showtopic=117065 13-December 02 Posted 25 November 2006 - 02:23 PM I just moved eMule between machines, and everything is fine except I can't update the server.met list. Emule is connecting fine http://www.cb-net.co.uk/microsoft-articles/configmgr/configmgr-2012-automatic-deployment-rule-0x80072efd/ otherwise, so it's not a firewall problem. ED2K links work fine as well, so I'm a bit stumped. Specifically, I get this in the log if I either use the "update error 12029 met from URL" function or even clicking on "add to emule" on a page, like http://www.gruk.org/list.php 11/25/2006 6:09:50 AM: An error occurred connecting to the server, Error:12029 11/25/2006 6:09:50 AM: Failed to download the server list from http://www.gruk.org/list.php I've tried different sites, and I'm sure it's not the case of a site being down. I've also restarted emule and such to called process failed no avail. "You evil bastard! This is your work! Download the gruk.org site's server.met file with the "update met from URL". In order to use this function, the file has to be a valid server.met file. Examples: http://corpo.free.fr/server.met http://www.gruk.org/server.met You are attempting to get servers from a ".php" file, which will not work. via WireShark showed that a proxy server had been picked up (probably from a WPAD DNS entry) and as a result the ADR was failing to download. Ruleengine.log showed: ‘Failed to download the update from the internet. Error = 12029’ Patchdownloader.log (careful as this changes location if the client is installed): ERROR: DownloadContentFiles() failed with hr=0x80072efd To resolve I executed the following commands on the Primary Site Server (if you have a CAS then ensure you execute the command on the CAS server): bitsadmin /Util /SetIEProxy LOCALSYSTEM NO_PROXY bitsadmin /Util /SetIEProxy NETWORKSERVICE NO_PROXY By default these will be set to AUTODETECT – I can only guess that the server was picking up a proxy server from another domain in the environment.
