However it cannot connect to my FTP server, it comes back with a 12029 error code. I then opened a window "Command window" error 12029 and the ftp connections works fine with the same userid and pass. any ideas?Dan Top psguru Site Admin Posts: 1604 Joined: Sat May 15, 2004 4:23 pm Location: California Contact: Contact psguru Website Re: ftp connect 12029 error Quote Postby psguru » Mon May 11, 2009 7:02 pm This error (ERROR_INTERNET_CANNOT_CONNECT) typically means a network issue, such as a firewall blocking FtpVC from accessing the Internet. One ammyy admin error possibility is a software firewall, such as ZoneAlarm or Microsoft Defender, that blocks programs from accessing the Internet. Note that FtpVC uses WinInet services of Windows, also used by Internet Explorer (IE). In essence, all applications that use WinInet share IE settings, including proxy settings. So one way to test FtpVC connectivity is to try and connect to an FTP server in IE. psguru PrestoSoft Top VikasRocks New Member Posts: 1 Joined: Tue Sep 16, 2014 12:17 am Re: ftp connect 12029 error Quote Postby VikasRocks » Tue Sep 16, 2014 12:51 am Did you checked for network related problems? Now, I cannot access the internet... get "IE cannot display the webpage" on everything EXCEPT secure (HTTPS) sites. Diags gives: HTTPS: Successfully connected to www.microsoft.com FTP(Passive): Successfully connected to www.microsoft.com HTTP: Error 12029 connecting to www.microsoft.com: a connection to the server could not be established. My daughters computer, which connects through the same router, works fine. Also, when I go to Control Panel/Internet Connections, right click on my internet connection and chose Status, nothing happens... I get no status display. It almost seems like there is a file missing or something. Thoughts?
