But in MSDN it says that parameter could be dotted-decimal IP address, so it must work clearly. What is wrong? Thank you. #include "stdafx.h" #include
you've never run Pocket IE and connected to an Internet website, there may not be any settings in the registry. (A back-compat. workaround to support ActiveX controls that don't use CM was added to Pocket IE that will write them -- you may http://www.verycomputer.com/17_4d772246bdeeea09_1.htm be seeing this on your PPC 2002 device.) Technically, you should establish a connection with Connection Manager and get the proxy settings from the connection manager info struct after establishing the connection, then pass in these values https://www.experts-exchange.com/questions/20939503/Error-12029-with-WININET.html through InternetOpen(), rather than using Connection Manager. This will allow configuration via CM by your application users and be more consistent with any URL mappings they specify in the CM user interface. I believe there is a sample error 12029 of Connection Manager usage in the PPC 2003 SDK. -- ___________________________________ Jay McLain Software Development Lead - Pocket IE Mobile Devices Division Microsoft Corporation This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. It did this in 2002, but now fails in 2003 if you have never configured the connection. Thanks, -Derek > INTERNET_OPEN_TYPE_PRECONFIG means to use the registry proxy entries for the > connection. Solved Error 12029 with WININET Posted on 2004-03-31 Networking 1 Verified Solution 1 Comment 2,601 Views Last Modified: 2010-08-05 This is a crosspost but I MUST have an answer and am at the end of my proverbial rope. I have what I think is a relatively simple piece of code. It uses WININET to "contact" a URL and then grab the ASP.NET generated XML. As is typical with many of these bugs that make me tear at my hair, this works on two hundred machines, and fails on one. Therefore I am thinking it to be environmental. Here is the code: =============================== hOpen = InternetOpen(scUserAgent, INTERNET_OPEN_TYPE_PRECONFIG, vbNullString, vbNullString, 0) If hOpen = 0 Then glErrNbr = Err.LastDllError gsErrMsg = "Error in InternetOpen call" GoTo GetSourceErr End If hOpenUrl = InternetOpenUrl(hOpen, URL, vbNullString, 0, INTERNET_FLAG_RELOAD, 0) If hOpenUrl = 0 Then glErrNbr = Err.LastDllError gsErrMsg = "Error in InternetOpenURL call" GoTo GetSourceErr End If =============================== InternetOpenUrl raises the error 12029. The call is to an https: address. That same URL functions perfectly on that machine if pasted into Internet Explorer. The machine is WindowsXP, OfficeXP, IE 6.0.2800.1106. Note that this same user has an issue using a Wise Installer web-deployed install. It ==must== be some sort of setting like it is trying to use a non-existent proxy (???). Is it not so? Again, the same URL that fails with Wininet in code works in IE. He can do other tasks like surf and fetch email. I'd appreciate any ideas at all on what to look for. Thank you, all.
