you've never run Pocket IE and connected to an Internet website, there may not be any settings in the registry. (A back-compat. workaround to support ActiveX controls that don't use CM was added to

This will allow configuration via CM by your application users and be http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/ie/forum/ie8-windows_other/internet-explorer-cannot-display-website-http/ececeb0f-7312-4167-be7d-4895daa34a05 more consistent with any URL mappings they specify in the CM user interface. I believe there is a sample of Connection Manager usage in the PPC 2003 SDK. -- ___________________________________ Jay McLain Software Development Lead - Pocket IE Mobile Devices Division Microsoft Corporation This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. 9 Years Ago This morning my HP Pavilion 7915 worked fine. Then I got some kind of update from Adobe and tried to run it. It said it was already https://www.daniweb.com/hardware-and-software/microsoft-windows/threads/64271/error-12029-a-connection-to-server-could-not-be-established there, and asked if I wanted to overwrite or put it elsewhre. I could do neither. Also, I believe I may have had an Internet Explorer Update. The icon now looks different when the application shows on the taskbar. Then I tried logging onto internet, and Internet Explorer won't allow me to, saying "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage." I called my dsl server error 12029 and they confirmed the modem is OK (it works well with my wireless laptop). On the Network Diagnostics page for XP it shows everything OK except under Connectivity it says "FTP (Passive): Error 12029 connecting to ftp microsoft.com. A connection with the server could not be established." What does all this mean and what can I do?
