feature, or by downloading a manual update file. If you download a manual update, you apply the update by running the downloaded file. With an automatic update you will see a notice that it is available when you start QuickBooks. If you are in a multi user situation you want to be careful about when you apply the update – see my article on quickbooks update error 1603 automatic updates for a discussion on that issue. I recently was notified about the R9 update to QuickBooks 2010. I had already installed this on several of my computers, but one system hadn't been updated. When I start QuickBooks on that system I see the notification: When I clicked on Install Now the update process began. After awhile I received the following error: There are a number of reasons that this can happen – generally it has to do with either an error in the web patch file or possibly an incompatibility with another version of QuickBooks that you may have installed on this computer. Intuit’s recommendation here is to just press the ignore button. In this case I had to click the ignore button multiple times. After awhile, the installation process aborted, and another error was displayed: If you are in a multi-user environment this can be a big problem if you find that SOME computers update correctly, but others don't. At the very least the computer that didn't update will give you warnings when you access the company file. In many cases you will find that this com

Re: Error 1328 acrobat64 Sep 27, 2012 8:53 AM (in response to Mylenium) I have tried to uninstall and then reinstall. I have also put in the Adobe installation dvd and tried the 'repair' option..no luck...still get error 1328. When I install the Acrobat X Pro with theAdobe install dvd, it says that it is V1xor's Pre-Activated Adobe X Pro Application Maintenance. What does that mean? Like Show 0 Likes(0) Actions 3. Re: Error 1328 acrobat64 Sep 29, 2012 8:13 PM (in response to Sabian Zildjian) I have done the uninstall re-install, I even did a repair install. Still got error 1328, so I called Adobe Tech Support, who finally told me that I had an invalid serial number which had been 'recalled'..not sure what that means. Anyway, I returned the software in the mail this afternoon as it won't be of any value if I am unable to update it to correct security issu
Intuit: QuickBooks 2008 is experiencing issues with its ability to update itself. This is the error: ErrorError 1328.Error [sic] applying patch to file c:\Config.msi\PT47F.tmp. It has probably been updated by other means, and can no longer be modified by this patch. For more information, contact your patch vendor. When we receive the error, we must keep clicking the Ignore button to keep the install alive. It may, or may not succeed. In some cases, one will not have an Ignore button. We can only click the Retry once to see if the update will proceed. If it does not, we need to reinstall QuickBooks 2008!Note that clicking the Abort button may cause error 1603. One needs to shutdown Windows all together then power up the machine (no warm boot).Further reading from Intuit's QB 2008 support site: Error 1328 or Error 1328 followed by Error 1603 Error 1328Error 1603Error 1706Note that Intuit's support lines are clogged with callers and it may be a long while before getting through!Philip ElderMPECS Inc.Microsoft Small Business Specialists*All Mac on SBS posts are posted on our in-house iMac via the Safari Web browser. I used to be a Quickbooks Professional Advisor until years later I realized that Intuit only really cared about the QPA yearly fees I paid. That was in 2003, at which version I refuse to move from.Intuit has some problems.(Just ignore the man behind the curtain!)1. Like quietly changing the position of household furniture in the house of a blind man, Intuit keeps changing it's UI, rearranging it just enough to piss off previous clients and cause everyone to relearn the content locations.2. Intuit forced all it's payroll clients, then ALL it's other clients to have a working internet (or you cannot use the program).I had plenty of clients in rural areas who only had dial-up. Try getting updates on dial-up.3. Intuit stopped listening to it's users (something the founder Scott Cook built Intuit upon) and started focusing on competing with products like Peachtree and others. The program stopped adding features we really need.4. As Intuit grew, it diversified into the financial arena and must of took their best Quickbooks programmers with them, evidenced by annoying program problems EACH version, program update glitches (causing data loss) and payroll calculation problems.Quickbooks 2007 already has release 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.Release 8
