This account is a member of the Local Admins group on the SQL Server. I can create a profile using control panel - mail, and logon using outlook. But when I configure the SQL Server agent to use this profile, andhit TEST, I get an "Error 22022: SQLServerAgent Error: Unable to get the default MAPI Message Store due to MAPI error 285: The Microsoft Exchange Server computer is not available. Either there are network problems or the Microsoft Exchange Server computer is down for maintenance." Neither of these two assumptions are correct. I can pull up outlook using the same profile and login and it works fine.My thinking is that, because of the un-trusted domain element, when the SQL Server Agent tries to initiate a MAPI session, it's being prompted for a password (albeit you cannot see this).Anyone with a similar configuration out there?Regards - Tim Post #237845 Scott BecksteadScott Beckstead Posted Friday, November 18, 2005 10:13 AM SSC-Enthusiastic Group: General Forum Members Last Login: Tuesday, December 7, 2010 5:44 PM Points: 148, Visits: 24 Can't help with what you are doing but this article worked for me. The server has SQL 2000 SP4 and Outlook 2003 installed, but when I try to test the SQL Mail Session it comes up with the message below: Error 22022: SQL Server Agent Error: Unable to get the default MAPI Message Store due to MAPI Error 285: The Microsoft http://www.sqlservercentral.com/Forums/Topic237845-5-1.aspx Exchange Server computer is not available. Either there are network problems or the Microsoft Exchange Server computer is down for maintenance I have spoken to our infrastructure team and they said everything is fine on the exchange side of things, plus I am able to send emails directly from outlook on the server. Has anyone come across this before? http://www.sql-server-performance.com/forum/threads/sql-server-mail.8591/ If yes, how did you managed to recolve it? Solved SQLMail not able to send with Outlook Posted on 2004-11-11 MS SQL Server 1 Verified Solution 3 Comments 1,238 Views Last Modified: 2007-12-19 We are attempting to configure SQLMail to be able to notify our Database administrator of important SQL events through e-mail and net send. We are having an issue that is preventing us from getting this configured. We've gone over the Microsoft article about troubleshooting this and I think we have everything setup but apparently something is wrong. We are using SQL 7 and Exchange 2000. Here is an e-mail from her about our current situation. >>>> I’m trying to set up the email alerts when SQL has problems. I cannot get the email to send. I have made an account for SQL called SQLMail that is a System Admin in SQL, is how SQLserver service is started. We use Outlook so the profile in SQL Mail configuration shows Outlook and starts and stops the Mapi service fine. (We had tried to use SQLMail as the profile in the configuration but it would not start then, had a mapi failure (error 22030 A Mapi Error (Error number 273) occurred: MapilogonEx failed due to Mapi error 273). So we currently have the server logged in as SQLMail (which is a domain account), SQLMail is running the SQLserver service, the SQLmail configuration is set to Outlook and the SQLserver Agent is started with SQLmail. The Operator I have set up is SQLmail as well and I get an error [Error 22022: SQLServerAgent mail session is not running; check the mail profile and/or the SQLServerAgent service startup account in the SQLServerAgent Properties Dialog. I’ve tried setting myself up at the operator as well and gotten no where, I get the same error. I’ve looked on line and as far as I can tell have incorporated everything suggested in the KB’s from Microsoft. <<<<< Both SQL services are set to start as our SQLMail account which has domain administrator rights, Outlook is configured with a special profile for SQLMail and it can open and send messages just fine manually. The net send option under our Operators works, it is only
