I was receving this error after the progress bar had reached the maximum level, at which point the 2932 error would appear and reference to the file "wordicon.exe" which the installer was unable to process for some reason. The installer would then roll back and would follow the same problem if I retried installation. To overcome the issue, I disabled AVG's Identity Protection component via the software's GUI and re-ran the installation. This time, Office successfully upgraded from 2007 to 2010. Hopefully this will send some people in the right direction when trying to upgrade to 2010, with little troubleshooting information available at this early stage of the upgrade scheme.
